Vehicle Detail
We have moved from CO to CA and are going to donate this car, unless it sells. The good: The car is drivable and runs fine, we aren't selling it for any of the challenges below or for some major mechanical reason. We liked the car, but we could only drive one car out to CA. The car has new tires and rims The timing belt / water pump were replaced in 2008 We bought when it had about 60k from a dealer and have regularly replaced the oil The title is clear The car passed emissions in CA in 2009. The challenges: The car was painted by Maaco (the original paint was really faded and so we got it repainted). The clear coat from this paint is peeling off but the underlying paint is still in good condition. The windshield has been cracked and probably needs to be replaced. The battery was replaced in the last year, but since it has not been used much in the last several weeks, we had to charge it up to start it. Over Christmas break it needed to be charged, but then we had no problems starting the car after that all through the holidays. The car was not used during the fall months. The tape player no longer works, but the AM/FM player works fine. The car was taken to a mechanic in Fort Collins (not by me but by a potential buyer back when I was able to actually show the car). And this is what the mechanic suggested: Alignment Motor mount Rear struts Transmission flush (fluid really burned) Rear brakes Based on driving it, I'm not convinced that #1/#3/#5 which I believe all belong together, but wanted to at least be open about this. I believe #2 is to fix that when it idles it shakes a little bit, but only when its idling, it has no problem driving. Finally, as the title shows, we had a minor accident 4 years ago. A car pulled into my lane and cut me off; I swerved to avoid hitting him and bumped into the car who was passing me. There was no mechanical damage, only body damange. We had to replace the driver door panel and the front panel. No mystery mechanical issues have shown up since. The total damage came out to something like $750. Since I am not in town, I can't give test drives but you can take a look at the car during normal business hours (until 8pm or so) at 1798 Technology Drive, Fort Collins, CO 80525 (it is parked in the parking area). The sign out front says TUSCANY. Related to this, the only way I could think to sell it fairly was to offer it at a low price and take bids on it. The only thing I can guarantee is that the car will start and run when you pick it up. Other than that, the car is offered AS IS.
