SENSATIONAL 2001 JAGUAR XKR COUPE – ONLY 36K MILES!! I’m moving to London for work so my stunning XKR is very reluctantly up for sale. It’s 4 Litres and 370bhp of Supercharged Power, Fun and Luxury - with VERY low miles. The Jaguar XKR is a true Supercar - one of the greatest GTs ever built. This is the RARE Coupe - much better looking than the convertible, and a real head-turner. People often want to come over and talk about it. As a woman at a gas station said to me recently – “That is the sexiest car I’ve ever seen!” (Sadly, she didn’t say the same about me…) If you ever watch the BBC’s “Top Gear” show you’ll know how much they LOVE this car. It’s in superb, remarkable, condition. It has the Platinum Silver exterior, with Oatmeal leather interior and burl walnut dash (XK trivia – the shape of the dash was based on the curve of a Spitfire’s wing!). The wheels are original Jaguar alloys. It comes with Factory Navigation and the Integrated Jaguar phone. The previous owner was a Jaguar collector (he had 38!), and he bought it from a friend of his who was also a collector. This car has been pampered! Mechanically, at 36k miles, it’s barely run-in – these cars are built to be strong and reliable. (I had a previous XKR which was still immaculate at 116,000 miles.) And the interior also reflects its very low use. The leather etc is sensational. Even my local Jaguar dealership (Hornburg in LA) were blown away by the immaculate condition of this car. The Transmission is incredibly fast, smooth and tight, the engine is ultra-smooth and very powerful – it purrs when you want to cruise, then a touch on the accelerator pedal and it leaps forward like an eager cat. And things get even more exciting when you press the ‘Sport’ button… The XKR also features the CATS system - Adaptive Suspension which changes settings to match the way you’re driving – stiffer when you’re driving hard, softer and more luxurious when you’re cruising. It is simply brilliant! You will NEVER get out of this car feeling tired. The bodywork is unbelievable. The paintwork is bright, deep and even, with a lustrous shine. Is it “perfect”? No - it’s not a brand new car! But it’s as close as you’re ever going to get. There are absolutely no major dings / marks / scratches. The VERY FEW tiny marks that there are, I’ve tried to show in the pics, but it was a struggle to get them to show-up at all. You have to look very hard (and get very close). The car has always been kept garaged. There are new brake pads and rotors (discs) all round. Tires are good. New Lower front suspension bushes. Jag Tech said Upper bushes are a bit worn but fine. Brand new roof-lining. There is some minor kerb-rash on the alloy rims (see pics). The A/C is ice cold. Rear parking sensors. CA tags to Sept 2011. The car also has 3 ‘Garage Door Openers’ (three Memory buttons) - useful if you own 3 garages… Faults - as often occurs with XKs, the electric head-rests don’t move. The motors are fine, the problem is the cable running from the motor to the headrest – it was designed very slightly too long! The good news is, there is an easy fix, issued by Jaguar. The headrests are already at the right height for me (I’m 6’ tall) so I never bothered getting them fixed. Also, the automatic telescopic steering column motor works intermittently (this lowers/extends and raises/retracts the steering wheel on ignition key entry/exit.) 9 times out of 10 it’s fine, then very occasionally it fails to drop the steering column back to the memorized height on key entry. A quick press on the Memory button solves the problem. Both these issues are common XK faults – neither of them have ever bothered me (I don’t use the Auto ‘telescoping’ feature either) but I mention them here for fairness. Every XK I’ve ever owned (3) has had the same issues. The Carfax states there have been 5 owners (inluding me). At least two of these were the same person - the car was owned by his company then he transferred it to Personal ownership. Remote Alarm key, All manuals, Service Books etc. are included, along with the Valet key. This is an $85k Supercar! The Kelly Blue Book price for this year/mileage is $19,000. Buy It Now is set low because I need to sell before I head off to London, so you’re already ahead. Viewing / Inspections welcome BEFORE buying. A winning bid / offer is a contract to buy. Please do not buy if you do not have the funds in place to complete the transaction. Non-paying bidders / buyers will be reported to Ebay.
