Vehicle Detail
1973 Protouring Camaro Z28 just completed in June 2010. Former featured SuperChevy car: http://www.superchevy.com/features/camaro/0511sc_black_1973_z28/index.html The Z28 was a good base to start from with a laser straight and rust free body. I could not leave enough alone and rebuilt the entire drive train and suspension. All the stock and powder coated parts are gone. Now billet everything for a true show quality performer. Started with the 468 engine, new to the engine are: (You'll see the difference in the pictures posted vs. the featured article.) Hydr Roller thumper comp cam, AFR 325 racing heads, Ultra Pro Magnum rocker arms with stud griddle, Cloyes two piece timing cover for future cam upgrades. High volume oil pump with Meldon 7 qt oil pan. High volume edlebrock ultra shine water pump, Ceramic hooker headers Edlebrock ultra shine Victor Jr intake. High torque starter, New chrome 120 amp alt and power steering unit, bolted with new March billet brackets. New temp adjustable dual flex fans with shroud pulling 4,600 cfm to keep it cool. All supported by a New 700R4 SS overdrive transmission from Monster rated at 650HP w/2800 stall lock-up converter. New 3" alum drive shaft, New 12 bolt with 373 gears, 33 spline and Posi & T/A cover. Welded in sub frame connectors. 4 wheel slotted and drilled wilwood disc brakes with billet wildwood hydraboost for stop on a dime braking. New rear leaf springs with roll bar, new Heidts lower and upper front tubular A-arms (1") shorter to accept wide tires to prevent rubbing with 2" shorter Hotchkis big block springs. Two new red top optimum batteries, Billet fender supports. I'm sure I missed something but will answer any questions you have on the build and upgrades. Have all receipts in 2 inch thick folder. There is less than 200 miles since the rebuild. What I did not change is the Boyd Coddington alumin wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich g-force T/A's, 17 front and 18 in back. Custom stereo system with dual DVD screens in the trunk, 1000 amp base, 750 amp tuner with (4) 10" sub woofers behind the rear seats, capacitors, relays etc all in a custom housing on top of the fuel cell (Over $10K spent on stereo alone). Dakota digital dash etc and hurst quick silver racket shifter. 3 1/2" flowmaster exhaust. Demon 850cfm carb, MSD 6AL ign system, Interior is perfect (4 yrs old) and paint is flawless. I can provide any other pictures of your choosing of items not shown here. Mark 714-309-3283
