The previous winning bidder emailed me the day of the auction stating he did not have the funds after he bid and had no intention of following through with the sale. His ID is jgiovine65. Do not trust this person as the ebay representative I spoke with stated she could not help me. If you bid, be serious. This is not a game to find the reserve price which I am not setting this time! The person, as stated, purchased at my reserve then backed out at the last minute. Ebay should not endorse this activity but are not preventing it. This is a very nice car for which I have $11,000 into it and one of the nicest, rust free and developed '73 Spiders you will find. If you have any questions, ask! I have set the Buy-It-Now price at $6,000.00 and will accept offers within reason. However, this car will go into storage if it is not sold as to enjoy once I recover from spinal surgery, sometime next year. If you Buy-It-Now you must have the funds available within 48 hours. Sorry, but I have had this happen twice in the last month with regard to my other two cars. This Classic Alfa Romeo Spider and sexy sports car is a blast to drive with its 2.0L Dual Overhead Cam engine and 5-speed manual transmission. I know you will enjoy it as much as I have! She has been upgraded with Carello headlight covers, Robbins black cloth convertible top with boot cover, roll bar, AM/FM stereo with front and rear speakers, Panasport FS 14x6 wheels, Pirelli P600 195/65 tires with excellent tread life remaining, 5/8” rear sway bar, Koni shocks, HP front and rear suspension springs, chassis stiffener to improve frame rigidness, reduce cowl shake and improve handling, polyurethane bushings, adjustable upper control arms, dual Weber carburetors, headers, Anza free-flow twin-tip exhaust and an engine cooler. 2.0L Engine is from a later, fuel-injected, model replaced last summer. Fuel injection was replaced with the Weber dual-carburetors from the original motor. I am not a mechanic but would have a knowledgeable mechanic power tune the carburetors; they need to be adjusted better for smoother operation. (*I still have the original, running motor, was knocking when I parked it, not sure of the problem but had lost power the last 5 miles before I parked and replaced it.) Primarily maintained in a carport under a cover the last 6 years and a garage before that. The interior is in very good shape with no rips or tears of the burgundy seats and door panels. The dash is cracked but does have a solid dash cover. The exterior has minor blemishes and does need some minimal paint work on the front nose. I have had a lot of fun driving this sporty convertible and will miss it. I am selling her due to some health issues and pending rehabilitation. Some extra parts are also included. Recent parts and service as of Summer 2010 with engine replacement include, but are not limited to: New oil filter, antifreeze, Castrol GTX20/50 oil, water pump, upper and lower radiator hoses, bypass hose, throw out bearing, Weber 40/45 carburetor kit, manifold gaskets, oil cooler hose, shift boot, thermostat, fuel filter, ignition point set, throttle cable, spark plugs, Interstate battery and cable, valve cover gasket, fuel tank removal and clean, heater hose, water pump, radiator clean and rod out, and repair side mounting straps. This Classic Spider is currently registered until June 12, 2011. Once the reserve price is met this vehicle is to be considered sold in ‘as is, where is’ to the highest bidder with no guaranties or warranties implied or given. Shipping is the buyer’s responsibility and I can provide temporary accommodations only. I will try to answer any questions prior to the end of the auction and to the best of my knowledge. I am also listing the Spider locally and reserve the right to end my ad if sold prior to the end of the auction.
