Vehicle Detail

Beautiful 1968 Volvo 144S Sedan, purchased from original owner three years ago! Original owner purchased via the European Delivery Plan in 1967, (original letter from Volvo & Brochure included), while working in England. All maintenance records dating back to purchase are included, even the warranty booklet with a few dealer stamps from England, before it was brought over to the US. The vehicle is an excellent example of an original Volvo in British Racing Green, with the typical age and signs of a 43+ year old vehicle. The vehicle has 393k "original" miles, however the B20 4cylinder engine was rebuilt in 1990 for $2500 at 251k, (receipts included from local repair shop still in business). The manual transmission shifts smoothly, the engine idles nicely and starts right up every time. The engine has been converted to electronic ignition, so no points to replace! It has good working power brakes, a center console, working front mounted fog lamps, no radio, (didn't want to cut into dash), but mounting in glove box is viable option. iPD aftermarket sway bars were added last year to give the suspension nice tight handling. The dark green exterior is in overall good cosmetic condition. There are no large dings or dents on any of the body panels. There is one small ding on the center section of the hood panel, one small ding on the left side of the deck lid and a couple of small dings on the sides, however no large dings as noted. The body fits are good and it appears that no major body damage of any kind exist. There is only minimal amounts of rust including a few small bubbles over the left rear wheel lip, however considered minor as none of the rust bubbles have gone through any of the sheet metal. The paint is in good condition with only a few small rock chips on the hood panel and a few small side chips. All of the glass including the windshield is in very good condition, as all of the glass is free from any rock chips, cracks, or other damage. The tan leatherette interior has been well maintained and the interior shows normal wear, and there are no signs of any major abuse to any of the interior trim panels. The front bucket seats have some fading and only the lower left side on the drivers seat has a minor tear. The dash has a split on the left side, and is covered by a nice black cloth dash pad from iPD. The headliner is in good condition with no damage and the door panels and the instrumentation panel areas are fine. The Carnegie radial blackwall tires all have good tread, and the factory steel wheels are accented with chrome trim rings and chrome hubcaps. All of the instruments & lights work as they should, blower motor was replaced last year, and the heater works excellent. Parking light stays on while driving, but is a common switch failure and easily repaired, and the only other issue I know right now is the vehicle will diesel on occasion for a few seconds, when turning engine off. This is a common carbuerator issue, and it has never bothered, nor been an issue in the past. These cars are very popular here in the NW, however getting extremely difficult to find in this condition, especially with a good service history. The vehicle has been appraised by a local appraiser with 36 years of experience, for our insurance purposes. And after physical inspection and market survey the present condition coincides with NADA Collector Car values of nearly $5000. The value is based on comparable vehicles for sale on an expanded national market as well. BUYER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING SHIPPING OR PICK UP OF THE VEHICLE! DEPOSIT OF $500 REQUIRED WITHIN 24 HOURS TO SECURE THE VEHICLE. FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 5 DAYS. Buyer's Inspection Every effort has been made to accurately and fairly describe this vehicle to you. I have known and loved Volvos all of my life and I have tried to disclose all information known about this vehicle. Please be advised that used vehicles will have typical scratches and dings inherent for their year and mechanical parts are subject to fail. I welcome and recommend a buyer's inspection if you feel it's absolutely necessary. If you plan to have a buyers inspection, please make sure you inspect the vehicle prior to the auction ending. Buyer is responsible for any inspection charges and fees. Please feel free to email if you have any questions, and I'm willing to send video of vehicle running/driving for any serious bidders if desired. Warranty Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, this vehicle is being sold "as is". No representations or warranties are made by seller, nor are any representations or warranties relied upon by bidders in making bids. PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS, FOR THIS VERY SERIOUS AUCTION. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THIS AUCTION EARLY, DUE TO THE CAR BEING FOR SALE LOCALLY! WILL NOT ACCEPT BIDS FROM PARTIES WITH LESS THAN 3 FEEDBACKS, SORRY, NO EXCEPTIONS. THANKS AGAIN!
