Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a Skybird that is good, original condition and I will describe it as honeslty as I can. The odometer reading is 78,000, but I do have a GM mechanics report from 2005 that says 178,000 but I know the mechanic did not know for sure since records on the car were no longer available, so he guessed at that time. The odometer does work. The original paint still shines and has no dents or scrapes. The front endura bumper is worn by time and the elements. It needs refinished. The rear endura is in very good condtion, but is somewhat faded. The glass is all good, and does not leak. The body and frame have no rust except for a quarter size spot on the lowest point in the bottom of the trunk. The fenderwells are perfect as are all corners of the windows.....no rust. I have the original build sheet that was behind the back seat. The original options are as follows: 350 4bbl V8, Dual exhaust-looks original but the muffler needs replaced, AC(unhooked-working order?), AT, Tilt, Cruise(Not working), hand crank windows, T/A steering wheel-dash panel-rally pack cluster( clock works sporadically but is untouched), rear spoiler, snowflake wheels, and tilt. The vinyl interior is good except the front seat material is worn out. It currently has a used T/A blue hobnail cloth seats( I have the original front and back seats) but no major tears or rips. The foam is all good on the seats, not broken down. The original 8 track radio is missing, but the original plugs are all there, uncut. The snowflake wheels have no curb rash but do need cleaned up. It is still has the original jack, handle, and original full size spare that looks like it has never been used. It has good tires, shocks, and the brakes were redone within the last few years. The car was purchased new in Eastern Oregon and owned by two ladies before me. It was not hot-rodded. It was under cover most of its life and the paint and dash show that. I bought this as a car to restore , but am going a different direction in life now, so the car needs to go. I drove it 20 miles home upon purchase, and it has been parked in my garage for almost a year now. I start it up and run it to make sure the battery does not run down. It starts every time, and idles just fine. It is a solid car with no surprises. Please feel free to ask questions.
