1989 Honda HAWK GT

This is an 1989 Honda NT650 Hawk that I purchased a couple years ago from a guy who worked at a multi line dealer in Charlotte,NC. It was pretty much stock when I bought it and I've added the 91 VFR rear wheel, 97 VFR front end and the Koso gauge cluster, cleaned up a few cosmetice bits, made a cleaner chaingaurd for it, powdercoated the wheels, calipers, footpeg brackets, headlight brackets, new exhaust and jet kit. The tires were new last summer and have a good bit of life left. The tank started weeping a tiny bit right at the lower seam edge so I sealed the tank with Caswell two part epoxy tank sealer, it's way better that the Kreem garbage and I've used it on several tanks with great success. Forks had new seals and oil when the front end was installed, the whole front end was put on late last summer along with the Koso gauge. I installed the Koso because it is much cleaner and the 97 front wheel isn't set up for the stock speedo drive - it needed the Koso in order for the speedo and odo to work. Front rotors are galfer with black speigler braided lines front and back, the rear is routed through the swingarm. I'll include the stock gauge cluster with the auction so there is no doubt about the milage, I set the Koso to start counting where the stock left off. I'm not listing the vin # because last time I sold a bike on ebay some guy called me a couple months later and said the bike I just sold was for sale in texas with the same vin # (I called the new owner and he still had it and it wasn't for sale). The title is clear North Carolina and is in hand. Battery is about 2 years old and bike has been garage kept on a battery tender, air filter in also almost new, new plugs a while ago, mobile 1 oil, honda filters, carb sync last summer, starts right up with first push of the button every time -it's a Honda. I've owned several bikes and this is one of my favorites, it handles as well or better than most new sportbikes, is great fun for a beginner or someone who has been riding for years. I'm selling it only because I'm getting out of riding until my daughter is older, I was thinking of just storing it for 8 - 10 years but have decided that probably wouldn't be practical so I'm selling it. I've got a good bit more in it than the 3K I'm starting at so this is a good deal for someone who is looking for a very nice example with some upgrades that really make it a sweet bike. I can take bike to Asheville, NC for shipping pick up for no charge. Shipping is responsibility of buyer. The pic with the tach was taken when the bike was turned on - the tach needle swings through it's whole range when first turned on, I didn't rev it that hard in neutral. I'm asking $6,000 OBO for it. Added 1-27-11 Both bikes are for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early, even if there are bids as the bikes are on consignment at a local dealer with instructions to sell at a set price without calling me. Added 2-6-11 Bike was sold last week but buyer was unable to follow through due to personal reasons so I'm relisting.
