1979 Honda CR

ORIGINAL, UNRESTORED 1979 HONDA CR 250 ELSINORE - IN EXCELLENT RUNNING SHAPE. PERFECT AHRMA VINTAGE RACE BIKE. This is one of the cleanest vintage bikes I have seen. The bike starts in a couple of kicks and runs great. It shifts smoothly through the gears and has a strong powerband. I have not done any work on the engine. This bike is bright Honda red, the flash on my camera has given some of the pictures an orange tint. It has been stored inside since I have had the bike. The person I purchased it from told me that the bike was garaged from date of original purchase. The frame decal behind the number plate reads: HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD. - MADE IN JAPAN: 2/79 - 1979 MODEL. (Pic #14) The front tire is the original Bridgestone Motocross-M15, and the knobbies are still in good shape, (Pic# 15 & 16). It has the original D.I.D. rims on front and rear, but the rear tire has been replaced. The previous owner put an Answer forest service approved silencer on the bike. The forks are in great shape and have good suspension. The rear shocks need to be replaced, which is fairly common with these older bikes. It has the longer 17.5 inch shocks.The seat is original and in great shape except for a small u-shaped tear about the size of a quarter that was repaired. The tank is in great shape, and does not have the normal wear on the paint from someone's knees rubbing like most bikes this age. The gas cap is the original cap and is in excellent shape. There is a dime sized dent above the wing tip on the left side and a crease under the original decal on the right side, (Pic.# 4) that is about 2 3/4 inches long and 1/4 inch deep. The paint is not oxidized and other than above mentioned flaws, looks amazing. I am going to include a new front number plate with the bike. The bike has the original bars and levers, however I did put a brand new Gasser Gunner throttle, (Pic# 11) on along with the grips. The front and rear fenders are original and have been treated with plastic renew. A few more aplications and they would look almost new again. The exhaust pipe was repainted before I bought the bike, (Pic# 8), however it is straight and there are no dents. It is in very good shape. This bike is exceptionally clean, easy starting, strong running motorcycle with very few flaws. It would take very little to do a full restoration on it, it is about 90% there and original! Look at the pictures of the shifter, kickstarter and brake pedal (Pic# 9 & 10) and you will notice that there is really no wear on them. I am selling the bike with a notarized bill of sale. If you need a title, please be aware that there will be an additional $50.00 added to your purchase price to cover the filing fees and it takes 8 weeks after filing. I expect a deposit of $800.00 paid to paypal within 24 hours and the balance either upon pick-up of the bike or within 2 days after the auction closes. The optional fee for the title is paid upon my reciept of the title (I will send pics verifying title and will send title via certified mail upon reciept). I expect the winning bidder to arrange shipping or to pick the bike up. I will help as much as I can, however it is your responsibility to make arrangements. I am happy to work with you if you need other arrangements than the ones stated, however I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know prior to the auction close.
