Vehicle Detail

This a numbers match car. It was originally a Limelight green car. Engine has 0 miles on it. It is a YS code 400 with 62 heads. Machine work was done by Central Virginia Machine Service which is one of the top Pontiac engine builders in the country. It has been bored .020 and compression redued to run on pump premium. It has new rods and Speed Pro pistons. It has a Comp. XE 262 cam. It runs perfect and idles like a stock engine. The only components that are not original to the car are the starter and alternator, everything else is date code correct. It has a TH400 trans and a 3:55 posi that works perfect. It has hideaways with new actuators that work although they sag when the car is not running. I have an uncut radio plate, the molding for the windshield that is dented on the drivers side and a re-chromed rear bumper. I also have all of the moldings that are not on the car. The car has a rallye dash and is in perfect condition. The top mechanism works perfect as well. The fuel gauge is the only thing that doesn't work and I have a new sending unit for it. The body is rough and in need of complete restoration. The trunk pan is solid but the passenger side front floor is rusted through. The frame is solid. The car is currently registered and I would not hesitate to drive it any where. Mechanically it is in good shape. It has had maintenance repairs to the brakes, and a few front end parts over the years. I have had the car for 20 years and had hopes of restoring it, but I unfortunately must let it go. The car needs work but it is a pretty rare car when you combine the fact that it is a real GTO convertible, the original limelight green color, hideaways, and of course the fact that it is a numbers match car. I have set what I think to be a reasonable reserve on the car. On Jan-29-11 at 19:11:34 PST, seller added the following information:The shifter in the car is a 68 Hurst His/Hers. I have the original. I will post some better pics tomorrow. On Jan-30-11 at 07:41:19 PST, seller added the following information:Moved the car out of the driveway today and posted a few more pictures. Pics were taken while the car was running so the headlamp doors were closed. I think there is a vacuum leak in one of the hoses. As soon as you start it they snap closed. On Jan-31-11 at 12:21:02 PST, seller added the following information:I have had requests for pics of the underside and with the top down. It is raining today so I will post them tomorrow. On Feb-01-11 at 13:58:09 PST, seller added the following information:Added pics of the trim tag, top open and a couple of the under carriage. On Feb-03-11 at 14:35:16 PST, seller added the following information:I have lowered the reserve on the car and the current bid is close.
