Vehicle Detail

This is our old family camper. It has everything original except the closet. We gave that to our nephew in California. So it has the 1600cc motor, which was fine when we parked it in '94. With Mystery oil squirted into the cylinders. The transaxle is fine. It has an unusual vented LPgas, Debonair heater by Williams behind the drivers seat which still looks fine. This either came with it new or was added way back. But it's cool. And makes it a good winter camper in ski resorts and other outdoor venues. It still has all cushions, baby cot and the brackets, upper canvas, upper bunk, refrigerator, storage, screen window brackets, seats with original covering in ok shape and whatever. It even has an extra right door.Rust here and there but not unexpected. Obviously the battery area is gone, and some decay around windows and underneath. Maybe best of all it has a whole extra bus...a 1971 Type 2. I also have boxes of gaskets for the front windshield and some door gaskets, brake parts. The front windshield of the Westy was vandalized recently. So the '71 glass needs to be moved over. It just has a couple of rock chips. The right side door glass was also broken out. That glass is also good on the '71. The '71 is a rust bucket. 1600cc motor and transaxle fine when parked in '97. It's a restoration deal. The '70's fiberglass top is fine. I removed the back and reinforced the fiberglass and did not put it back on. But it's fine and in good shape. All in all; this is a big restoration project with everything I believe you need; except the closet. Or part it out. Whatever. The fusebox on the '70 is typically brittle. The brakes were.... well..they were always drums. I thought about putting the '71 disc brakes on the '70. The bed and upper shelf are in the barn with the cushions. Removed when we sent the closet out to California last Christmas. The winning buyer pays us with check or MO within a week of the auction ending. We can be flexable about the two vans being picked up. Since they haven't been moved in a while; a few more months won't matter. But stored at your risk. Please feel free to ask questions. Thanks for looking. No reserve, no minimum. And don't forget...we're in North Carolina near Durham on I-40.On Jan-29-11 at 05:18:55 PST, seller added the following information:There is another transaxle and motor that will go with this auction if wanted. I believe they are from a '68. I'm not sure. And they've been out in the weather. Winning bidders choice to take them or not.
