Please Read ALL of the description of the vehicle, ask any questions before bidding on this Rare 442. Car sold as-is and needs FULL Restoration! Very Rare Optioned Matching Number 1968 Oldsmobile 442 Holiday Coupe that has been stored for many years. I had bought and planned on restoring it but my plans have changed. I got too many vehicles needing total restoration and this one needs to find a need home. It has been sitting for years. The oil and filter was recently changed, It starts right up. No smoke, noise etc. except for an exhaust leak from exhaust gasket at the head. After flushing old gas from tank, it is now running off tank with fresh Premium. Previous owner installed headers and exhaust. I do not have the exhaust manifolds. Newer Dual Exhaust from headers to the rear. They removed the a/c box from firewall along with compressor , but it is with car in the trunk with all the brackets. It was hard to see but we read the Vin number on the block pad driver side below head. This is the original engine which is a 400 "G" engine, HARD TO FIND and it is ORIGINAL! Runs quite well for sitting so long. Turbo 400 trans The engine was the correct gold color also, very worn paint. Correct RED air cleaner with chrome center to meet up with 442 decal. Correct heads 394548 C heads best flowing big valve olds heads. Block Code 396026G Correct Qjet 7028251 Car was repainted years ago laquer. Correct color was a nice looking Silver Green Poly. Body by Fisher 05D 021642 910463 ST 68-34487 BF 02468 Body TR 940 B80 PP Paint Has Front and Rear Sway Bars with boxed lower Rear End Control Arms. 4 Piston Power Disc Front Brakes Rare Headrest Seats Factory A/C Tinted Glass, All in useable shape and not broken! Even the windshield! Power Steering Lap Seat Belts with Shoulder Harness belts that hook on holders at headliner Power Driver Seat , Power Windows, All work up and down except for driver's side rear. Rear Window defoger Factory AM/FM radio , No power to it. Nice console and shifter Neutral safety works Sunvisors look nice, Dash pad is cracked and needs replacing. Headliner has been removed. Nice bumpers for re-chrome, Front could be a driver in pretty good shape. The car runs yard drives and stops so it can be loaded. Brakes are real soft. Remember its been sitting for many years. The frame and floor pans look good. The trunk will need a pan. Trunk drain channel good Lower fenders rusted but they sell repair sections , pass has dents Lower Quarters and wheel lips are bondo from many years ago. They sell Goodmark replacements. Trunk lid is rusty on lip, could be fixed. Hood has heavy surface rust and some holes in front middle but sice these are so hard to find and so $$$$$$$ this hood could be fixed. Roof has heavy rust pits and some small holes but easy fix and install vinyl top again. This car has old laquer paint that has worn off due to sitting in the sun, That is why you see surface rust on the car. An eBayer just pointed out to me from the pictures that the right rear wheel moulding is missing. I do not have it with the car. All the other chrome and chrome moulding is on the car and in pretty good shape, It does need polishing, but very respectable. I have ordered a Georgia title to be in my name. Will take about ten days to receive. Or I can sell it with a Bill of Sale only! This is a rare High dollar Rare car once it is restored. I drove it around the shop area and the tranmission shifted really good too, with no hesitation. Trans does leak a small amount of fluid while idling. Brakes did work, but was weak and leaked some fluid from the right front caliper. I am looking at these two leaks to see if if is a gasket or line.
