Vehicle Detail

Hello and thanks for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I am a licensed wholesaler offering trade in and off lease vehicles directly to the public. Buying your next vehicle through one of my NO RESERVE auctions could save you thousands over retail by cutting out the cost of the fancy lot, salesmens commissions and all the other bull you end up paying for. I personally test drive each vehicle so I can tell you first hand how it looks, runs and drives. My desctiptions are my complete and honest opinion of the physical and mechanical condition of each car. Although I make every effort to fully disclose everything I know about each car, the information contained in each description is my opinion and is not guaranteed as I am not a mechanic nor do I have a crystal ball. Personal inspections as well and all questions are welcomed and encouraged before placing your bids. I do not end auctions early so please don't ask me if I have a "buy it now". An administrative fee of $99 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction today is a 1997 Jeep Cherokee SE (base). This Jeep comes in pretty much its most basic form. The forest green paint still looks pretty good considering is has been driven over 192,000 miles. There is a small dent in the drivers rear door near the bottom and there is a spot about the size of a softball at the back of the hood where the paint is faded. Otherwise, the paint looks good. You will also see in the photos that the front bumper is missing its side cap on the passengers side. I could find NO RUST on this Jeep except where the paint cracked on the aforementioned dent in the drivers rear door. There is a receiver hitch for towing, too. The tires all have decent tread left on them. All the glass is in tact. Overall this is a decent looking older Jeep. The interior is actually in very nice condition. I could not find any rips or holes in any of the seats or carpets. Being the SE trim, the windows and lock are manual. The factory radio still works. This one is equipped with air conditioning although I have been unable to test it as it has been in the low teens outside and my warehouse is not heated or insulated enough to make it warm enough for the compressor to engage. I can tell you first hand that the heater works great, though. The original owners manual is in the glove box. For reasons unknown to me, someone installed a push button start in this Jeep. It works fine but I don't understand the point since the key has to be in the ignition and "on" for it to work anyway. I guess it made sense at the time. The struts that hold the rear gate up are worn out and need replaced...or you could use a stick. Mechanically this Jeep is actually in good condition. The famous 4.0 strait six starts right up and idles smoothly and quietly. There are no taps, knocks or other noises. There is no smoke and I could find no leaks under this truck. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts like it should. The suspension, steering and brakes all seem tight. At highway speeds, there is a noticable vibration in the wheel. It's not horrible but it should definitely go in for an alignment check maybe once we get through pot hole season. The check engine light is on and my scan tool cannot pull up the code although it may be related to another issue this Jeep has. For reasons I don't know, the parking lights don't work. The headlights work, brake lights work and hazards work...but none of the parking lights. I looked in the fuse panel and the fuse was missing for the parking lights (among others). I replaced it and hit the parking lights and they worked for a second and stopped, I assume the fuse blew again. There were four other fuses missing which may be triggering the check light. This will need obvious attention as parking lights play an important role in being seen by motorists behind you at night. I wish I knew more to tell you but that's all I know. Bottom line...this is a great running 4x4 that can be had on the cheap. All the important stuff is right. The engine runs strong and makes no noise. The drivetrain is solid and works properly. The body is in good shape...not rusted out like most. If you can make sense of the fuse issue or know someone who can...this would make a great 4x4, hunting vehicle, ect... This Jeep will go to the highest bidder. It runs great and can be driven anywhere (in the daylight) with confidence. Thanks and good luck bidding.
