Vehicle Detail
1969 GMC Sierra Custom 2500. The truck is NOT RUNNING, but has a clear California title, and has been maintained on a DMV Non-Op. This truck has been parked on our property for about 10 years since the motor developed a loud knock. I did not investigate the problem, we had other vehicles available, so I simply parked it and left it alone. Also, I should mention the truck was stolen from the previous owner, then recovered. The thieves removed the original factory data plate from the door frame (wrongly thinking this would render them immune from capture), so there is now a CA DMV REPLACEMENT DATA PLATE showing the original serial number. If you're still interested, this truck is very original, with a very straight body (with the exception of a crinkle in the left front fender). The odometer shows 71,972.6, but I'm sure the truck has at least 171, 952.6 miles on it. It is a 3/4 ton, two-wheel-drive, with an original GMC 305 V6 engine (not running), factory A/C (not functioning), a 4-speed stick shift (rebuilt for approx. $900 when I bought the truck several years ago), rebuilt seat (new foam and new cloth/vinyl done in a similar style to original period seat covers, cost me $400). The wood bed floor of this truck is still functional, but not very cosmetic. There are 5 matching steel rims for the truck (2 mounted on the front, and three sitting in the bed). There are also 2 saddle tanks which I removed from the truck a while back which are also sitting in the bed. The spare wheel under the bed is an original split-rim. The work rack pictured is included with the truck. There is one spot of rust in the driver side door frame (pictured), which was already Bondo'ed when I bought the truck. I don't believe there is any other rust on the vehicle other than surface rust. The truck needs a replacement fan shroud as the original one was broken (what's left of it is sitting in the bed). The right-rear shock mounting plate should be replaced or repaired, as the shock mounting hole has been beaten into an oblong shape. Included are an original 1969 GMC truck service manual for this model, the original GMC owner's manual, and an original brochure for the 1969 GMC truck line. There are also some minor parts in a bucket.
