I have owned this car since 1995 and it has been through several mild restorations until 2004 when I stripped it totally down and have completed a frame off restoration. The car has only 1565 miles on it and about a dozen test and tune runs on the 1/4 mile. This car has mainly been to shows and is a show winner at almost every show entered. With the combination of the T-56 6-speed double overdrive transmission and the 4:56 rear gears, you can drive it down the highway at 70 mph with the tach showing around 2100 rpm and get there pretty quickly for a 4000 pound shoe box. Since then various versions of the T-56 have been installed as orginal equipment in the Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, Cobra, Cobra R, Cadillac CTS-V and Aston Martin. D & D Performance recognized the brute strength of the Viper gearset and the smooth shifting, extremely durable carbon fibre synchronizers. All of our Viper derivative T-56's are custon built from scratch and include steel 3-4 shift fork, billet 3-4 struts and manganese bronze shift fork pads (1st thru 6th). Many components in these blueprinted race ready transmissions are the direct result of D & D's participation in the product development and race programs with the world's leading automobile manufacturers. We have NOT experienced a single mechanical failure in any of the 1420 units built and sold thru 12/31/08 ! Driveshaft is lifetime warranty build by Denny's Driveshafts, Kenmore, NY Rear housing is a custom Ford 9" with an aluminum nodular housing with 4:56 gears Suspension Front has tubular upper and lower arms with 2" drop spindle and QA-1 coil-overs. Rear suspension done with Eckler's Classic Chevy spring pocket kit and QA-1 coil over dropped kit with panhard bar. Car is dropped about 4" in front and 5" in rear and rides great. Brakes Front are slotted and vented disc brake kit from Eckler's. Rear are slotted and vented Wilwood disc brake set. 7" power booster, dual master cylinder, vacuum reservior canister and brake line lock. Ignition controlled by MSD 8360 distributer, MSD 8970 Multi Step Retard Controller, MSD 8672 RPM Control Module, (2) MSD 8676 Retard Switch Modules (one for supercharger and the second for NOS) and MSD 8207 Blaster SS Coil. I have two hoods for the car, a fiberglass one without hood rocket cutouts and a 4" L88 hood scoop which is hinged in the front and opens forward and the steel original with a polished stainless steel reinforced air cleaner cut out and unique NOS purge set-up. both hoods are custom airbrushed and modified for the Supercharger height increase of air cleaner. 3 sets of air cleaner set-ups are also included. Interior is done in black and gray tweed type material, front bucket seats are from '05 Honda. custom center console with power window switches, remote door release and remote hidden stereo controller as well as storage with 12v plug-in. MP3 adapter and trunk release. The trunk is also detailed the same as the passenger compartment. Back-up battery and all stereo components are hidden under the deck lid. All dash delete panels are chrome plated. Heater delete car and no A/C. Raingear hidden wipers are under dash. Custom gauges are from Classic instruments. Custom black and yellow steering wheel with NOS purge and activation buttons built in. Lokar pedals, brake, accelerator, clutch and dimmer switch. Gearshift knob is flip-up with brake line lock switch for easy access. Digital tach with programable LED shift light. Custom hinged storage compartments in the rear compartment storage floor. New wiring harness with ATO fuse box. Chrome I-did-it tilt steering column. Chrome interior window trim with door lock holes filled. Custom aluminum radio filler plate with vacuum gauge and boost gauge. LED dome light and 3 pt retractable seat belts. Exterior modifications include, vent window delete, mini-tubbed, drip rail deleted, shaved door handles with remote entry and license plate mounting holes on trunk. Wagon rear bumper for license plate, 2 inch custom exhaust with QTP electric exhaut cutouts, "Y" pipes with turnouts and electronic programable controller and real NASCAR exhaust exiting under frame and in front of rear tires, tinted windows and Nomad crown moldings. Dual rear antennas and a custom fit car cover with antennea and mirror pockets. Crossed flag emblems installed in the correct 150 locations with "Supercharged" script instead of "Fuel Injection". Side glass tinted between glass sheets and rear windshield is tinted with fitted film. Grill and hood bra to help protect paint and chrome on the highways. Halogen headlights and LED taillights. Aluminum radiator with programable electric fan, tubular radiator core support with stainless side panels, one wire 100 amp alternator, 500 series power steering box, March serpentine pulley set-up, (2) Optima (yellow) batteries with battery isolator and lots of chrome throughout.
