Vehicle Detail

1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Up for auction is a 1973 H-code (351 Cleveland 2-barrel) Mach 1. It was originally purchased as a project, but I don’t have the time (or room) to complete it. What I know about the car is as follows: It is an original 351 Cleveland car. It currently has a 302 in it that runs, but not well. I drove it from the flat bed it arrived on into my garage and it ran and sounded okay, but was not hitting on all cylinders. There were no bad mechanical sounds and no evidence of internal damage. My assumption is either bad gas (it smelled awful), or miswired plugs. The prior owner did some work on it, including the paint, which needs to be redone. There is bondo in the rear quarters. The trunk floor will need a patch. The dash pad is cracked. It originally had a ram-air hood, which was replaced at some point with a regular hood. The steering is quite loose, and I have not investigated as to why. I began disassembly, and so far have taken apart the front grill assembly, and removed the headlights, taillights, side marker lights, spoiler, and the rear window trim. All the parts are included. The grill was cracked in a few places and will need to be replaced, but is readily available from aftermarket sources. The car comes with a clear Tennessee title. Oregon requires an in-person VIN inspection for any vehicle brought in from out of state and I did not have a way to get the Mach 1 to the DMV. Further, they would not allow a state police officer to do the inspection at my house. Per the DMV office, there is no penalty for not retitling an out of state vehicle, so there will not be a problem with me signing the 2nd transfer of ownership on the title I received from the previous owner. This is a great project car for someone with the time and ability. It will need bodywork and paint on the outside. The interior is complete, but will need some work (the headliner is nice). If it were me I would put a 351 Cleveland back in it. An added plus it that it still has the original Endura front bumper, which is getting very hard to find. If you are local to my area, you are more than welcome to come over and inspect it. Included with the car is a Marti report, which proves it’s heritage as an authentic Mach 1 as opposed to a regular sportsroof. Winning bidder needs to deposit $500 into my Paypal account within 48 hours of auction close. The balance is to be paid by Cashier’s Check. Transportation arrangements are up to the buyer. Vehicle needs to be picked up within 30 days of auction close. Good Luck and Happy Bidding!
