That’s right, Steve Saleen, the former owner of Mustang-tuner and manufacturer Saleen Inc. has announced that his new company SMS Supercars will honor the warranty on any Saleen product purchased before February 2nd, 2009. Now that’s standing behind your product! “The ones who have been left out in the cold are the loyal customers of Saleen products,” said Steve Saleen in a statement. “While my new company, SMS Supercars, has no legal or moral obligation to take up any of the warranty claims against Saleen Inc. or MJ Acquisitions, Inc., I would like to make a bold statement on the right way to treat customers.” The news comes roughly a month after Saleen Inc.’s new owner, MJ Acquisitions, announced that it would not support the warranties on Saleen vehicles and parts sold before the Feb. 2nd date. We predicted in that story that the new Saleen Inc., wouldn’t be long for this world and that prophesy seems to be playing out. First MJ Acquisitions scared off all it’s customers (and infuriated the Mustang community) and now Steve Saleen has made a move that will likely see all current Saleen product owners driving their American muscle straight into his open arms. This vehicle has every option you could order from the factory on an F-150...6CD player, Air-conditioning, power everything. We have every factory manual. The plastic is still on the carpeting ! Here are the original factory documents from the Saleen Corporate offices! These documents show that on October 15th, 2007, the Saleen Corporate office requested this CONCEPT vehicle to be created. You will note a special 4:56 rear end was installed. I feel confident that with the right tires, you could pick the front wheels off the ground from a standaning start in an 1/8th or 1/4 mile. A Vehicle work order was requested A brand new F-150, regular cab in black was ordered to be built under P0059 with P2197 Code. A saleen complete Supercharger system was installed with JDM pulleys, Tune, special fuel pumps, airbox, Intercooler and a custom Saleen Facias and full body kit. The fuel tank had to be removed in order to install the fuel pumps. The belts & tensioners were JDM. The Supercharger system was set to produce almost 500HP. This Prototype Factory Concept Saleen F-150 just simply "Hauls A!" In the short video in the auction, the gas pedal was only depressed a 1/4 of the way down. A custom 4:56 rear axle was installed. This truck with proper tires & traction will most likely lift the front end off the ground when you jump on it out of the hole. For you young guys that means "stomping on the gas pedal from a dead start." New special tires and 23" Saleen Chrome wheels were installed. Special badges and custom applique and design trim were created and installed. Please look at the custom number & lettering on the Front bumper...on the Driver's side...this shows that this is the Concept design vehicle. 01 rf A custom exhaust was created and installed. On October 16th, 2007, a test driver with the initials, BC tested the vehicle and with 460 miles wrote his report on what he liked and what he thought needed to be correct.
