(Reserve is well under 1/10th the above amount !.... & well under what many new Econo etc korean cars sell for OTD...that will be worth about zip (almost nothing) in a few short years! This is The Same Year Mustang that "Dan Gurney" Won back the IROC World Championship with. Also, the 1969 & 70 Mustangs Set over 300 World Records (with Mickey Thompsons' help) when they were introduced ! This is a Great Find as it was an Original 302 V8, With Fords Wonderful C-4 Cruise-A Matic Auto Trans, it left the factory with Original Factory "Air Conditioning" (Orig. A/C looks to be ~all there but needs a belt etc. details below), she has "Power Steering", Factory FORD High Back Bucket Seats & This last year we have been Restoring this Beauty (as listed below) & have added Many SHELBY like & ELEANOR like Upgrades ! This Wonderful Car has only really had two Prior actual driving owners... as the whole time we have owned it she has been in a state of restoration. When I purchased this car I looked this car all over and under and it is one of the straighter (it still has her Original front bumper & all of it's Original unitized Frame, Roof & Quarter panels etc just as it came from Ford in 1969/70) & is Definitely one of the straighter 1960's Mustangs I have seen ! (Which is saying something as I have worked for Ford as an Engineer in the 1960's & have restored & owned Many Mustangs over the past 4 decades !) So I can tell you... Though not a Museum piece it is Very Beautiful & "This is indeed a Very Rare & Wonderful Find and it has Great Bones" ! Please Note * * "California is the Home of the Most "Rust Free", Desirable, & Best Preserved Classic cars that money can buy" ! Temperatures in our area typically run a Very stable & mild 50 lows thru high 70's, the Greater Majority (nearly all) of the year. Typically Humidity here is about ~Zip as well as ~Zip rainfall is Many years almost Non-Existant (the past ~month may be the exception)! Which explains why cars from this area are the Most "Rust Free" Most Pampered Classic Automobiles Money can buy & typically bring a 50% to 100% Price or More Premium for just that reason !!!) ......We Californian's Love Our Classic cars ! This Wonderful Vehicle was Built Right Here in Sunny San Jose, California and was registered here in Southern, California it's whole life! This is the last of the Great Timeless Classic Muscle Car Mustangs & she should continue to keep going up and up in value every year as good examples of these are very hard to find! This Wonderful 1970 Classic Mustang W/ SHELBY Mustang GT 500 EXP like Tribute paint work etc & ELEANOR Hood Scoop etc .Please keep in mind a Real Deal SHELBY GT 500 can cost upwards of $150,000.00 Though this is a Tribute (a Factory 1970 Mustang, that has been upgraded to have the more SHELBY stance paint details to look much more like a SHELBY GT yet, it still retains many of the appearance details and the essence of a Classic 1970 Mustang "Hard Top" Coupe...(IE) this is about as far as you can go without appreciably altering any of the cars stock body work etc (other than the molded in ELEANOR Hood Scoop & California street Rod Look (IE) cleaning up her lines by deleting the side marker reflector lights & Smoothed out the grill emblem etc.)....It is like the very Best of all Worlds 1960's "Shelby Race car Looks" but with one of the Best & Most sought after, Reliable & Bullet Proof V8 engines FORD ever built ! ....The Ford 302 V8 ( 5.0 Liter V8) has been in production for about 40 years This may be Fords Most Popular V8 of ALL TIME ! & She still has her "Bullet Proof" Original Ford C-4 Transmission ! The Floorboards on this car look GREAT !...Far better than even most any California Mustangs I have ever seen ! ! ! This car has a current Clean California Title (& Yes it is in my Name) & has Current Insurance (Safeco Classic car Ins is only about 150 dollars a year!). This was originally a factory Air Conditioned car It looks like Most everything is still there if you would like to get it back in service again. My Mechanic said that the Compressor and Clutch turned over very smoothly & still had it's Original Lubricating oil so he felt with any luck it would not take too much to get the A/C going again if that is something you would want to do.It has had a updated removable face radio installed over the years (the prior owner lost the radios face plate) the Good news is: if you want to get a new unit the mount and wire loom should still be in there & ready for a new Updated radio which should save you some money. Also, like many California Classic cars it's heater core has been bi-passed. I have an extra Brand New heater core still in it's Manufactures Original box, if this is something you feel you would want remind me and I will gladly include it for you FREE. Even the Real 1960's Race SHELBY Mustangs when they were brand new back in the 1960's were not perfect, they had many waves and devits etc. (Particularly on the Shelby fiberglass body parts). Even though the paint is New Nov 2010 it is not 100% PERFECT as it is right out of the paint booth & has not been color sanded & Polished detailed etc.as I never do that with my cars as it typically drastically reduces the life of the paint work. I would conservatively Rate the paint on this car is about a 7+ or 8 out of 10 there is personality (IE) some small parking lot impressions etc.if you think you really want to go nuts you could easily color sand this car & do one last blocking & do a final coat on just the outer red panels ...Then it would be more like a Show car (but then it would be so perfect you would never drive her..So whats the point? Also the Fiberglass ELANOR Bubble Hood addition My Wife and I think it looks fine but if your a nit picker she has a little of the typical fiberglass to steel blend personality... However, Be Advised this car will Typically & Rightfully so..."Draw a Crowd where ever you Park or Drive her ! So even though it Looks like a $150,000.00 Racing Shelby / ELEANOR etc Car I have priced this car to where not everyone ...But, I feel Most people that have been saving for a Great Fun car like this can still Comfortably Financially get into this Wonderful Car very easily! ... I have restored or replaced the many things as listed above that most likely get used a lot or wear a lot on a Vintage Mustang like this. Again, this is a "FUN" car that you will "NOT" have so much money in to that you are afraid to drive anymore. These are Easy to Maintain & Inexpensive (Particularly compared to most any other classic cars, as most any part is still available for Most any 1964-1970 Mustang) These are Super Easy to Maintain Very Straight Forward cars that most anyone with any mechanical abilities & His Son & or Friends can Enjoy Learning & Growing & Developing their abilities together ...And Trust Me ....That is Really what these Great Mustangs are All about ! & that is why 64-70 Mustangs will probably out live any other classic car out there ! ...I originally intended this car for a personal street car !!!! With Shelby GT 500 EXP like Race Car like Stance and Looks (paint scheme etc) ..Needless to say because it's engine (under it's SHELBY like Appearance Upgrades) is a almost completely "Box Stock" Small Block 302 CID V8 these are said typically get ~Good gas Mileage (~30% to ~ 80% better Gas Mileage) as compared to a Built Ford Big Block engines etc. ... a Big Plus these days, & Typically these 302's are said to have "Excellent Reliability" also "Good Solid Dependable Performance"!! This car Looks GREAT , a lot like a Nice SHELBY GT 500 EXP & ELEANOR Inspired Classic Mustang Tribute ! Since you will be the first new owner of this Classic Beauty since it just now returning back into service after about nearly a decade of storage. Today, my Wife, my Son & his Girl friend & I All went around Cruising a little ...after a couple of hours....I have to say ..."The Car Feels Great" ! These 1969 & 70 Mustangs are a Lot More Steady on the Road Particularly at Higher Speeds especially compared to the earlier 1964 thru 1968 Mustangs As these 1969 & 70's were designed to be able to handle The "Big Gun" OHC... "BOSS 429 CID" Mustang Engines that were ONLY available in the 69 & 70 years. Also, the Car feels very "Sure Footed" & Very Solid on the Road...This is a Very Nice Driving car ... The steering & Brakes feels Very Good & Very Positive + I had her idleing at a stop for at least 5+ minutes & Unlike Most other 60's Muscle like cars I have owned her Temp gauge stayed very steady & only at about 1/4 the way up the Dial the Entire time ! (which is just... PERFECT !) in my book ! I was able to locate the Hot Rod Magazine that shows Mickey Thompson Breaking Speed record after Speed Record in these Magnificent 69 & 70 Mustangs ! On Jan-18-11 at 22:28:48 PST, seller added the following information: We were able to run & drive the car some more today and (of Course) she continues to Run & Drive Very Nicely (I have to admit These 69 & 70 Mustangs "Feel like they Own the Road" when you drive them ...Far more Stable and Steady than the majority of the 64 thru 68 Mustangs I have owned. I have a Brand New Turn signal switch we will be installing in the next few hours (so she will be all ready for another 40+ years of operation)... also, I replaced one of the 245 X 45 X 17 inch front tires today.
