The owner of my dealership (Roberts Chevrolet Buick) purchased this car about 2 years ago and kept it as a personal vehicle for himself during the summer months. Pretty much the car spent most of the time here at the dealership on the showroom floor instead of being driven and that is what has caused him to sell it. The condition of the Monte Carlo is great inside and outside. If you are looking for an original Monte without buying someone else’s problem this is it. Soon as the car was received it was sent to our service department for a full inspection. Those problems that nickel and dime you death are not there on this vehicle. The body has 154,731 miles on it and the Monte Carlo drives just like it is was new. This is truly a 1986 Monte Carlo that can’t be matched for the money!

Exterior
The exterior is in great condition, plenty of pictures to show that as well. No rust here on this Monte Carlo, since we received the car it has always been garaged. The exterior was painted in the late 1990’s professionally. I spent years as a painter before I sold cars and the paint job is excellent and looks straight factory. The shine of the clear coat reflects a factory paint job not an aftermarket paint job. If he wouldn’t have told me, I would have never guessed. It is truly that good. All of the factory decals and emblems from the front to rear are replaced as they were intended from the factory with no changes. The fiberglass pieces as we all know are the faults of the 4th Gen. Monte Carlos. Not on this one though, the rear bumper and front match perfectly. Gaps are consistent with one another. The wheels are original, same exact wheels from the factory. Tires are new, less than a year old and have plenty of tread on them. The doors, trunk, and hood have consistent gaps; they also open and shut correctly. The glass is clean, no leaks, cracks or anything of the sort at all. All turn signals, brake lights, headlights are functional and operate correctly.
Interior
Original factory interior and very clean at that. The conditions of the bucket seats are very nice. Original steering wheel and armrest are in great condition. The dash is in good condition also, there is one flaw on the passenger side and it has been repaired and shown in the pictures besides that it is perfect. The windows are tinted at all four sides including the brow as well. Power equipment is all functional and working properly. ( Windows, locks and mirrors operate perfectly). The heat and A/C works just like a new vehicle, blows hard and all original operations of the comfort controls function properly. The entire interior is factory except for the stereo system which definitely needed an upgrade from the factory. The stereo system was upgraded with the following aftermarket equipment. In addition, some of the panels of the car were lined with the interior sound deadening material to create the best possible sound inside the vehicle. This stereo system isn’t like the neighbor’s kid who drives the down the street 500 times a day blaring his radio, this system was designed for sound quality and it packs quite a punch! No matter what type of music you listen to, it feels like a concert.

Powertrain
Underneath the hood lays the infamous GM 5.7 350 small block mated to a 4 speed transmission as it should have been all along from the factory. The 350 has an Edelbrock intake manifold with a 4 barrel Holley. The fuel lines were replaced from the regulator to the carburetor. The engine was built prior to us buying us buying the car. With us being a Chevrolet dealership, we definitely know the 350 engine/ 4 speed automatic transmission. Strong powertrain that has no problems at all. The 4 speed transmission shifts as smooth as ever and it is just as strong as the engine. All of the exhaust gases pass through long tube headers to Flowmaster mufflers. The exhaust system on the Monte Carlo gives that classic 350 engine growl that we all know and love. It speculated that the car is pushing somewhere in the range of 300 horses. The Monte starts and drives as if it never left 1986 ever! If you watched the video you will see how easy this vehicle is to start!
