Vehicle Detail
I'm selling a 1986 Ford F350. It has a '92 7.3 IDI engine. Odometer reads 86k. I don't know the actual mileage. Engine was supposedly rebuilt 40k miles ago. It has 4x4 drive with Warn lockers. 4 Speed Manual. PICTURES The Good: 4x4 Crew Cab Manual Transmission Brand New (<30 miles) BFGoodrich AT Tires Delta Toolbox 3rd/Aux Fuel tank Custom Bumpers w/ Warn 10,000 lb winch The Not so good: Does have some rust issues. Nothing too bad. I'm from the midwest and its nothing as bad as i've seen back there. Pretty much mostly surface rust underneath. It had been sitting in the wet Oregon countryside for a while. Also, there is currently damage to the oil pan. Specifically the drain plug orifice. It needs to be re-tapped, or the pan needs to be replaced. It'll run but leaks oil pretty fast. I bought it a few months ago. As said before, it had been sitting out in the country. Probably for some good time. It had lots of moss and grime all over it from the elements. It started right up with a puff of white smoke. Since buying it, I only put maybe 40 miles on it before the oil pan issue. In that 40 miles I didn't notice any thing wrong with the engine. In fact, it ran strong, had no other smoke except white smoke on its first start up of the day. I went to perform a tune up and ended up with a botched drain plug thread situation. So basically I haven't gotten around to fixing it and its just been sitting since I bought it. Now its time to sell. There is a lot I was wanting to do to this truck. But its just not working out. So for the right buyer out there, this truck has many of the options I was after, 4x4, 7.3 diesel, crew cab, manual, '86 front end.... Last two significant things to mention, that isn't shown (yet) in the pictures: I think the heater core is bad. Started up and burning/smoke came out. The further back part of the muffler is rusted out. I'll have thorough picks of the under body and suspension up tomorrow. Last, the thing I'd like to make as clear as possible. I just went out yesterday to see if the oil pan would not leak too bad, and be able to start. The option I've tried ended up leaking significantly. The drain plug hole and threads are certainly damaged. I'll try and get the best picture I can of the pan. Since the original intended tune up, around 5 gallons of clean oil has pretty much flushed through the engine. I am selling the truck as is, oil pan issue included. Any shipping/transport is the buyers responsibility. If you're still bidding, great! Please ask questions, I'd like to help as much as possible. Check back tomorrow (Sunday) for more pictures.
