This is a 1952 Ariel 600 VB with a 600cc single cylinder four stroke side valve motor. It is in very good original condition and it rides great! The paint is in mostly good condition, the gold pin-stripping is rubbing off but the black paint still shines up nicely. the chrome is fair overall but the wheels have some spotty rust. The bike is tricky to start as is typical for bikes of this vintage. It has seperate controls for compression relief, ignition timing, mixture and float bowl tickler. Once one has mastered these settings, starting becomes much easier. It runs very well with loads of torque and power. It does leak and burn some oil (this is a British bike afterall). The brakes, clutch, all cables and controls work well. The 6v electrics are working, even the horn. The tyres are like new (they are Shinko SR712F's). The mileage on the odometer shows 49,941 miles; but there is no way to know how accurate that is. The petcock is working perfectly and doesn't leak. The Amal carburretor is in good working order. The exhaust is in nice shape and has that classic British sound. The seat looks to have been recently re-upholstered and is very comfortable.
