Vehicle Detail
This is an extremely clean motorcycle with lots of detailed pictures its a one owner machine, they even show the original toolbag and tools under the seat and from every angle, trust me and my 100% feedback some even calling my stuff better than described and bid on this beauty. I saw a restored Kawasaki H2 500CC go for $7500 and mine is as nice as that bike and mine is not restored just kept in a climate controlled garage and has been freshened up with NOS components when needed. This one is a bargain at my prices as I can almost guarantee there is no lower mileage or as clean an example as this GS-550L, and the L models were very low production as most were T or E models. If maintained correctly like I have done, oil changes at 750 mile intervals and new oil filters, my mechanic told me this engine will easily exceed 150,000 miles as it was built to be expanded to 750, 850, and 1000 CC models all had the same bottom end. So I hope you will bid with confidence as I believe these daylight shots will prove how nice this thing is. I was saving it for my wife to ride but she will not ride it and I won't let this just sit and collect dust. Buy it and go back to 1981 its a time machine and enjoy riding a REAL bike, so comfortable most of the miles were done in one trip to California and back. So as you can see this is my personal 1981 GS-550L Suzuki I bought new in 1983 as an unsold dealer display model. From 1983 till 1989 it was not ridden at all and was stored in my garage, I first titled it and rode it in 1989. This is the cruiser style model with mag wheels, front and rear disk brakes is black with gold stripes. I have kept this bike in the garage since it was new (climate controlled) only in the rain a couple times when I got caught in a storm. It has a New Old Stock tank, side covers, badges, vacuum petcock, plugs, plug wires, and just has come from the shop where the carbs were cleaned and it was tuned up. It has a new battery, NOS fuel sending unit and a NOS seat, this bike is beautiful and has been babied. It was bought at Asheville Suzuki in Asheville NC and I have the original owners manual as well as the Clymers manual for this bike. The battery cables are NOS and the fuse box is NOS as well as the starter solenoid. It has a brand new Kerker 4 in to 1 pipe and the carbs have been re-jetted to match the new pipe. Runs really smooth. New tires and a NOS rear sprocket. This is one fine machine and probably the nicest GS-550L from 1981 in the country!! The VIN is longer than 17 digits so will not fit in the eBay VIN box so here it is JSD1GN71LB2104847. In addition it has the upgraded stator and regulator so the charging problems that plagued these bikes is no longer an issue it will definitely charge the battery and give you bright lighting. By the way this baby can be filled up on 6 to 7 bucks worth of gas and gets better than 50 MPG so if you are looking for a nice commuter this is the way to go. This is for the guy looking for a motorcycle from when they were really built well & to maintain is just oil changes and spark plugs once in a while. The electronic ignition has no points. No radiators and cheap plastic parts. The only plastic on this bike are the side covers!! Seat height is low so this would be a great bike for a guy who has a wife that wants a bike of her own. Enough power to stay with anyone on the interstate, speedometer goes to 85 and I have had it to at least 90, but not so powerful that I would not hesitate to recommend this as a first bike for a new teen or adult bike rider. Check out my 100% feedback as I do not sell anything I would not buy myself. If this bike was bought sight unseen, I know no one would be disappointed.
