Vehicle Detail

New low reserve, original winner of last auction did not follow through on purchase (did not have deposit to me on time). This is 1 of the last 3000 classic "type 1" beetles ever produced. 2004 was the end of the line for the most influencial car of the 20th century. I purchased this rare find from a gentleman in West Palm Beach, FL. He had two of these, one in each color. Both vehicles were purchased in Mexico. I have the original Bill of Sale from the "Z" Motors S. A. in Puebla, Mexico. The vehicle was towed on a flatbed to FL. There are less than 2150 original miles. The speedometer and odometer are in km/hr and km. The odometer currently show 3200 km. I am the second owner. This car is garage stored and I have only taken if for a few drives on the weekends. FACT: I have never driven this car and not been stopped at a light by another driver paying me a compliment. Mechanically - This car is in perfect condition. It really is a new car. It even smells like a new car. Check out how clean the engine and the compartment are. It drives absolutely beautifully. Everything works. The engine is air-cooled 1600 cc, 44hp, 4-speed manual. There are two things not factory on this car that I can find. 1) the cd player was upgraded to a kenwood that plays mp3's (it even has a usb port) 2) xenon headlight bulbs were added. Body - the body is a 9.9 out of 10. The original owner had 4 children. Sometime over the past few years they have put a few very very minor dents and scratches in the body. The dents have no creases and can be pulled easily. They (4) are smaller than a dime and can not be detected by my camera. The rear decal on the bumper has been rubbed which is indicated in the photo. There is a scratch on the glove box cover. This car has no visible rust on the outside. It is 99.9% rust free. The driver side door hinge has retracted into the door. I have the bolt and nut to fasten back to the frame. This car is a blast to drive and own. I have a baby coming in April and need to make room in the garage for a van. As far as I know, there are no other Ultima Edicion's for sale in the country. I have a clear FL title. I have placed a low reserve on the vehicle. I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime if a private buyer contacts me. If you search for "ultima edicion" on Youtube, you can watch an 8 min video of these cars coming off the production line. This truly is a gorgeous car. Here is a blurb from the web: This final special edition (badged Ultima Edicion), that more significantly marks final production of the air-cooled Beetle, was unveiled on Thursday 10th July, 2003 at a presentation at the Volkswagen plant where it is built in Puebla, east of Mexico City. VW Mexico will make only 3000 of the last edition which brings together aspects of the car's 70 year history. The edition comes in either Aquarius Blue or Harvest Moon Beige, 1.6 engine, whitewall tires, a CD player with four speakers plus chrome bumpers, trim, hub caps and exterior mirrors, Wolfsburg symbol on bonnet above handle, chrome glove box badge, colour coded wheels, tinted glass, rear parcel shelf, VW Ultima Edicion plaque. At 84,000 pesos, it costs about $1,300 more than the typical old-style Beetle. Final production of all Beetles ended in Puebla on 30th July, 2003 after 70 years of production worldwide. Some also produced in a light Metallic Blue. I suggest that if you have any questions to contact me or view the vehicle before placing a bid. It is in Fort Myers, FL. I can send as many specific/close up pictures as you would like. Please contact me. I will accept cash or bank check for payment. Deposit can be by pay pal. The buyer is to pay for and arrange for pickup of the vehicle within 7 days of the end of the auction. I would like a deposit of $500 within 48 hours from the end of the auction. On Dec-31-10 at 03:44:50 PST, seller added the following information: ATTENTION: I have had numerous emails about what the reserve is. It is $10,000. New low reserve, original winner of last auction did not follow through on purchase (did not have deposit to me on time).
