The W124 300E 4-MATIC Mercedes is referred by many as the best Mercedes ever made. THIS MERCEDES is the last year Mercedes made this model with the bulletproof engine. This thing is built like a tank! The car is built so tightly, with such ironclad solidity, that the whole cars seems to be built from one solid piece of steel. When you shut the doors, trunk, and hood, it makes a solid “Thunk” that can only come from a Mercedes. Think Bank Vault Tight! The engine bay is in excellent condition. You will be absolutely amazed at the condition. Very rarely will you find a Mercedes of this year to be so clean. Step in the car and turn the ignition and you will quickly fire up an extremely quiet and smooth engine. This Mercedes Benz 3.0-liter inline six at any speed, under any load exudes mechanical refinement. Start this Benz on a frosty morning, and the initial idle is so smooth, so flawless that, if the heater fan is running on even its lowest setting, you can barely hear the engine. It is one of the best engines Mercedes has ever made. It runs smooth and strong. I frequently see these engines go past the 350k mark and still run perfectly. The car leaks nothing. It has no oil leaks from the engine, transmission, brakes, differential, or power steering. The transmission shifts like a great. It changes gears very quickly with absolutely no delay or slip between the shifts. No wonder these cars were made for Germany’s Autobahn! Cruise on the highway going 90 mph and you will think you are only going 40 mph. It is wonderfully quiet and stable even in triple digit speeds. The suspension is very solid and snug. The suspension makes no weird noises. It is rock-solid. The car is remarkably agile, and the suspension is firm while retaining its awesome ride. This is because the 300E 4-MATIC features Mercedes Benz’s patented and proven hallmark 5-link rear suspension that they still use today in practically all of their models! The interior of this car is in great condition. There are no rips or tears. The carpet is in mint condition with no stains or discoloration. The dash is also in immaculate condition with no cracks or discoloration. The Zebrano wood trim has no discoloration or major cracks. It is nearly perfect. The headliner is also in immaculate condition. The trunk is in excellent condition with no stain or discoloration. All of the power options work as they should. The windshield wiper works on all of the speeds, the turns signal works properly, along with the headlights and fog lights. The sunroof opens both ways (back and forth/up and down). Even the classic sounding Mercedes Benz horn works perfectly and is original. The power windows, power locks, and radio/cassette work as they should. The rear defogger is also in perfect working order, as well as all of the climate control options. The blower motor works properly on all 4 speeds. No surprises here! Everything works great! I am an extremely picky person when it comes to cars. Everything was described to the best of my ability. Take a good look at all of the pictures.
