Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a good running RANGER extended cab,4wd,with fiber cap and plastic bedliner. Truck was traded on a new vehicle,it runs and handles well, cosidering the age and mileage. Truck has a clear WI title, however, when it was almost new(1998) it was bought back by the insurance company and then resold,so,title was marked :"INSURANCE LOSS TITLE" and it carried that label for the last 12 years and will follow that with the new owner too...I dont know if that makes any difference after so many years of service. I personally drove the truck on the hwy to our location and it seems in good mechanical condition. The 4.0L engine runs well and very quiet, does not leak any fluids, bone dry undercarriage. Shifts smooth thru all gears and stops well, does not pull left or right, tight steering. It has winter tires with good tread, all four, matching. Body looks nice, rust I found only on the rear bumper, see pictures. 4X4 works fine in both settings 4wd high and low, switch button on the dash.It engages quick and does not make any noise when turning in circle. Interior is clean,it has optional power driver seat (working),rear jump seats.Power windows are working and radio is working.Gauges show very good oil pressure. Bed has a plastic liner and a padded fiber cap in matching color with the truck. The following are the issues I found upon a close inspection: 1. AC belt is missing,so,no working AC,compressor clutch spins free. 2. crack in the front windshield, see picture, starting in the drivers side upper corner and going half way across. 3.In order to proper go out of 4wd,one has to stop the truck and go in reverse for a couple of feet, otherwise the front drivers side hub is whinning,in other words,do not switch in 4wd and 2wd while moving, you have to stop.System works fine and quiet when is properly engaged. 4.Little flaking paint on the top of the hood, see picture. All in all this is a good little 4wd for the winter,I drove it on the hwy extensively and I feel confident that will perform well for the buyer. NO RESERVE. ILLINOIS BUYERS WILL BE SUBJECT TO 7.00% SALES TAX AND LICENSE AND TITLE FEES. ALL PURCHASERS WILL BE SUBJECT TO A $ 99.00, SELLING FEE FOR PROCESSING THE SALE. THIS FEE WILL INCLUDE A 7 DAY TEMPORARY TAG,IF NEEDED,AND ALL THE UPS OVERNIGHT COST OF THE PAPERWORK FOR OUT OF STATE BUYERS.WE MUST BE CONTACTED WITHIN 24 HRS OF AUCTION CLOSE AND A $500.00 DEPOSIT MUST BE MADE WITHIN THAT TIME, THE REMAINDER MUST BE PAID WITHIN 5 DAYS. ALL VEHICLE SOLD AS-IS WITH NO IMPLIED WARRANTY. The State of Illinois has an agreement with the following states to collect a percentage of their state taxes. (Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, South Carolina ).If your residence is not in the above states, all you pay is what you bid and the $ 99 fee.If we collect tax,you will receive a IL tax form( ST-556), from us and present it at your local DMV to avoid double taxation. If you need more info about this IL Dep of Revenue requirement ,follow this link:http://www.revenue.state.il.us/publications/Sales/rntrrc/ST-58.pdfOn Dec-13-10 at 14:04:12 PST, seller added the following information: I had several questions in regards to the remarks on the title. It is a riginal WI title that has the mention "claim paid" on it.Inspecting the truck,it does not show that it was involved in a colission, looks all original to me.My personal opinion is, that the vehicle was stolen when it was almost new,in 1998,insurance paid the claim, and the truck was recovered and the insurance company offered it back for sale, 12 years ago. That is all.
