I have owned this car since new August 2006. The car is in great condition and has been garaged kept. It currently has around 26,900 miles. This is an original Smart. Most the Smarts you see are not the original design created by Swatch and Mercedes Benz. This original features a Mercedes Benz engine with a turbo; This is not Mitsubishi version currently being massed produced for the US market since 2008. It has passed all US standards including 3 star crash rating and EPA standard through G&K Auto Imports in California: http://www.gnkauto.com/. The engine is an extremely high performance, efficient Mercedes engine which is 3cylinder, 0.7l, turbo charged. The European cars weigh more than 200 lbs. less than the US cars, and are 9 inches shorter in length; they feel more responsive than the US cars. Euro-spec 40-60 MPG, US 33-41 MPG. The car is set up with Roadmaster Towing Brackets and base plates and electrical for towing behind an RV. The engine lite has been on for over 14 months without any problem. I was told by Dealer it had to do with the catalytic converter, but was not essential to repair for the functionality of the car. Car was in an accident in 2008 - totally repaired by Dealer. Any questions on it can be answered by dealer if need be. This has been a great car and well taken care of. The car sips gas! Over 40 miles per gallon combined city and highway.
