Vehicle Detail
See below the link to photobucket. There are 35 more pics located there. 5 of the pics are of the car when I got it two years ago in its original form. This was still the original factory paint when I got it. Note the condition of the body, fenders, hood, floorboard, jams. The body was rust free! All the old paint was still on it too! Only concern underneath is the rust hole in the spare compartment which you will see in the pics. It was stopped and has not progressed in two years, not terminal. The old paint had seen its better days, so I was ready to get a start on my restore and give it a fresh new look. The painter was very amazed at the condition of the body on the car it being over 30yrs old. Upon sanding down he detected no hidden rust, no past body work and the body straight. 35 More Pictures located at this link: http://s1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff470/tuboz300/ A rare find and a real head turner. 5 speed original 20R motor runs strong, starts first try. Shifts out fine in all gears. Original factory Air conditioning works. REDLINE performance carburetor (this made a HUGE performance difference) Plugs, wires, coil replaced New fuel pump Belts, vacuum lines, valve cover gasket replaced Muffler replaced with stock, low miles on it Front glass and seals replaced Door and window rubber seals replaced All cabin carpet replaced with new Entire car repainted two years ago. $2500 expensive paint, multiple thin clean coats. Plus I had the striping painted on, not decals! Wheels removed and restored Vinyl roof covering replaced with new by upholstery shop. Shifter boot replaced by upholstery shop, they made it to replicate the original. To answer that question that someone will ask, Yes the car should make it to California! Here are things to note: Dash still in need of restore, center console cracking and brittle. Dent in rear bumper. Hole in spare compartment, not terminal rust. Slight front end wobble at certain speeds likely tire rotation and balance. I tried to keep the car as stock as I could. I wanted one of these for decades. Finally was in a position to and found this a few years ago and started on restoring it. It was originally dark brown with the same stripe scheme see pics in link. This car rides out great and in great condition. It has always been a southern car coming from GA before me two years ago so its never seen salt roads, it was always garaged or sheltered. Since Ive owned it its always been under a carport with a car cover on it or in my garage when not being driven. The seats are in fantastic condition as well as the headliner. The center column that goes between the seats does have some cracking. The dash does have cracks in it also. That was one of the last things I planned on doing and making the dash black. I was holding out for a restored dash which are available. But for now I purchased a black custom fit dash cap for it I have yet to install it but will come with the car, they look almost like factory if installed right. The car does not need a thing to jump in and hit the road. It always starts up first try. I dont drive it often but take it on weekend cruises and sometimes take it to work, about an hour commute on the highway. It has never given me any trouble or shown signs of future trouble. Idles VERY smooth, nothing knocking. Nothing leaking. In the few years I have had it it really gets noticed and I usually do not go anywhere without someone stopping to ask about it and admire it. The original radio still works in it!! Odometer reads 48974. Since there is no sixth digit on the odometer mileage may possibly be 148974. But judging by the interior, smooth running engine and condition of the body before I painted it I do believe the mileage on the odometer to be close to correct. But truth is either way 148k is not much mileage really on these cars anyhow especially considering the year. I realize this is not a cheap item and will answer all questions I can. And if someone if very serious and wants to ask more leave me a number to call you. The car is also for available for local inspection if desired. I have been totally honest and upfront about the car. There really is nothing to hide. Nobody wants any surprises when they by something off ebay. I dont want the buyer to have any surprises, I wouldnt want to put either of us thru that. I have sold 4 of my own cars here on ebay in the past years and all four were classic or collectible cars. All were smooth transactions to the very end. So please note my feedback and I have never had a single negative feedback. This confirms my honesty here. I want someone to get this car, be happy with it and most of all enjoy it! I have more invested in the car than I am asking, the paintjob alone was $2500. So PLEASE no ridiculous offers.
