Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1934 Plymouth hot rod. The car is powered by a vintage 1952 Chrysler hemi with 331 cu. in. The motor has been completely rebuilt to stock specs and burns regular gas. The engine was equipped with a one year only 1954 Chrysler 4 bbl. manifold with a holley 600 cfm carburetor. The 727 torqueflite transmission has been adapted using a Wilcap adapter. A custom driveshaft runs to a 1982 Chevrolet 3:54 rear end. This hot rod was equipped with vintage artillery wheels that have been primed and painted with Firestone wide whitewall tires. The interior is kept in hot/rat rod style with newly upholstered MG seats. The 1947 Plymouth dash has been sectioned to fit the narrower cab and provides an impressive offset to the 34 style. The steering wheel is out of a 51 Dodge coupled to an early 70's steering box. The front suspension has been built suicide style utilizing a 1935 Ford I beam straight axle, running on 1940 ford spindles, 46 ford hubs and early 60's Buick 45 fin aluminum drums. The front suspension is held in place by 1940 split wishbones and a panhard bar. The shocks used up front are 46-48 Ford Houdaille style and the rear with a coil over suspension with ladder bars. The interior sits on a subfloor using 16 guage sheet metal to make up the floor. The rear has a significant kick up with the gas tank mounted on top. The top of the car remains with the open are intact with a wooden trellis insert. On top of the trellis, there is a removeable padded top to keep out the sun and moisture. The front grill is purported to be out of a 1935 Chevrolet and topping off the motor is an original mid fifties functional air cleaner. The headlight buckest are from a 34 Oldsmobile and the interior has a console of early 60's vintage. The headers are lake style with a stinger baffle inserted on each side. On Nov-23-10 at 05:43:43 PST, seller added the following information: Correction: The front axle is actually a 36 ford , not 35 as stated. Also, I do have a clear Arizona Title in my name. The car is registered and insured. I drive it to shows all the time. The stock 47 guages are not hooked up. As noted in the photos, I have 4 aftermarket guages, oil, water temp, gas and volts. On Nov-26-10 at 06:38:42 PST, seller added the following information: The reserve has been lowered. This car will be sold this weekend. Need to move it along for other projects.
