Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1969 Firebird in Hugger Orange. It is the original color. I recently purchased it from the previous owner who had not moved it from his garage for seven years. I passed by his house every day for work and could see it there when the garage door was open. A couple of weeks ago the house went up for sale, then one day the Firebird was sitting in the driveway. I stopped and talked with the owner. He purchased the car in 2004 from a man in Quakertown Pa. and drove it 4 miles and put in his garage. His plan was to restore the vehicle but only got as far as installing a new Edelbrock 750cfm carburetor and front steel brake lines. She has a 350 Pontiac engine with a TH400 transmission. The engine sounds strong and does not smoke. The dual exhaust exits behind each rear wheel and is in good shape. The transmission does have a slow leak at the rear seal but does move/shift with no problems. The car has power steering and manual drum brakes all around. I have driven it around my property but never took it on the road, it is not inspected. The exterior is pretty nice but has two (2) dents, please view the attached pictures. There is a dent on the right rear quarter below the bumper and is dented on the right front fender by the headlight assembly. Both dents are very repairable. There is very little rust on the car, the doors are in nice shape with no rot on the seams. The rear quarters I was told were replaced in the late 1980's and look real nice even today. The worst panel on the car is the right front fender, there is some cancer behind the wheel. This seems to be a common spot but can be easily repaired. The rocker panels are solid with no rust. The roof, trunk and hood are also in very good condition. The trunk looks good but has a couple of pin holes starting. The glass is in good shape and has no cracks. The interior is black and usable condition. The front seats have some rips on the seams but are intact, The rear seat is nice and has the fold down option. It has great console with the shifter on the floor. The dash pad is perfect and crack free. The instrument cluster is uncut and all the gauges are original and work. Someone added a aftermarket tachometer to the steering column, it also works. The headliner is ripped and will need to be replaced. My plan was to restore and drive the car but my plans have changed. This car could have a light restoration done and be ready for spring. If you are into early Camaro or Firebirds you wont be disappointed. Since it is a 42 year old car I am selling it as-is. I have done my best to properly describe this vehicle. Feel free to ask any questions about this car. Good luck bidding!!!!!!
