Vehicle Detail
Thanks for viewing my auction for this really cool 1983 Honda CB1100F ex-drag bike. In addition to being a sweet original one year only bike, it has only 8000 miles. Featuring an 1126cc high compression kit, reworked heads and hot cams. Love the look of the velocity stacks on the 33mm Mikuni smoothbore carbs? Me too. Terry Vance & Byron Hines were probably working at RC Engineering when this classic 4 into 1 Megaphone exhaust was made. I installed a baffle in the pipe to quiet it down a bit for street use, helps a little, easily removable. As you may have noticed the bike also has a 3 inch-over, extended swing arm, and lowered suspension (about a 27in seat height, nice). The fuel tank has a very small, shallow dent on the right side, but other than that all the bodywork and paint is cosmetically in pretty great condition as you can see in pics. The original Honda seat is in beautiful condition. The bike had gone unused for quite a while, but the tank and carbs have been cleaned and new(expensive) needle jet valves installed. Many new parts including cables, front tire, battery, Victory mirrors and aftermarket turn signals added to make it street legal. Ignition key is a little sticky, and it cranks over a little slowly due to high compression/ignition advance, but when it fires up it really sounds fierce. The engine is quite raucous with rough/non-existent idling as you might expect considering engine mods made, however once above 2000rpm it really pulls like a freight train with an attitude. If you’re planning to use this as a street bike you will probably have to do a little tuning(?) to get this bike to behave, having said that, I have taken it on a few rides recently and it’s not all that rude for a bike set up for ‘80s match racing. If you’re going racing, yank that baffle along with a few pounds of street gear and light the fuse. Winning bidder will not be disappointed with this bike. Bike does have a clear title and current registration. If you’re looking for something different/unusual, I’m pretty sure you won’t see another one of these coming in the other direction. Modest reserve set and I expect a $300 deposit by Paypal from the winning bidder at auction close and the balance in cash when you pick up. If necessary, please be sure to get your transportation plan together before bidding. The bike is located in Madison, Connecticut and has a current Florida registration in my name. I will provide the new owner with a clear Florida title, a bill of sale and any other documents you require. Once again, thanks for viewing, good luck to all and happy bidding.
