Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1987 911 targa . The car has approximately 108,000 original verifiable miles, It has been meticulously maintained since day one, and I have a binder with the entire service history including the original sticker and bill of sale. The car is in great shape considering its age, it runs and drives excellent it however does show some normal wear and tear which I will describe further. If would like to speak on the phone about the car , I can be reached at 347-992-6242 Engine/Transmission The engine / transmission are both in excellent operating condition. Cold or warm the engine starts up immediately, The fuel injection system is working properly there are no misses or hesitations. The engine shows no signs of mechanical damage. There is no knocking , strange noises, smoking or leaking. The gearbox shifts excellent, with no noises or grinds. The shifter is very precise , the G50 gearbox is a HUGE improvement over the 915 gearbox of earlier models. Clutch is strong, with never any signs of slippage. The clutch release hydraulic system is also working excellently no leaks or any other problems. Exterior The car is still wearing its glossy ORIGINAL PAINT. I have found no evidence of prior bodywork or paintwork. All Body panels have there original Porsche factory stickers with vin#. That being said , a 23 year old black car with original paint and body work is going to show some wear. The front of the car has rock chips and road wear on the front bumper , windshield, hood and fenders. There are a few small door dings and scratches, that really don't photograph well, the biggest imperfections being a ding about the size of a quarter on the drivers side rear fender and a touched up scrape on the front drivers side fender. Being completely original as expected, also there are a few spots on the car that are showing some surface rust, both door sill panels (below the latch) are beginning to show some surface rust, nothing is rusted through, but the paint is beginning to bubble on the drivers side and its a little worse on the passenger side. There is also some rust on the front drivers side front fender/bumper gap near the impact rubber, and a small spot near the rear lid. about the size of a quiarter it is minor and currently is just a few bubbles in the paint. I am including pictures of the areas. Interior The interior of the car is in great shape. The Seats do show some wear on the seating surfaces, but it is consistent with the mileage of the vehicle. The dash, door panels, carpet, and interior trim also show no excessive wear or damage. The steering wheel leather is completely intact and looks good. All gauges and interior electronics are in working order Chassis /Suspension/Wheels The engineering quality of Porsche really shows though in the way the car drives. The suspension is still firm and tight, there are no clunks, rattles, or signs of damage. The steering is smooth and tight, The car tracks straight and true well past highway speeds. The car currently has updated wheels and tires from a early 90's 911. All wheels have matching Yokohama tires with good tread. The wheels are in good shape there are some small scrapes, and minor curb marks here and there. Overall this 911 is a well maintained driver. It is not a show car.Its a car that you can use without worries. It shows wear consistent with its age, and has many years of enjoyment left in it. The values of the 87-89 911's have continued to hold strong and climb, even in the rough economy of the past couple years. They retain the essence of the early 911's but with the addition of modern fuel injection and gearbox, they perform better, are much more usable, and are more reliable.
