This was supposed to be my pet project. I was lucky to find this car in very good running condition for a '72 Opel. The car runs and drives very good. I installed a new Weber Carb from Opel GT Source and gave it a good tune up. I did dive into the brakes installing new calipers in front, new pads and shoes, rebuilt cylinders in rear drums, nearly all lines and hoses replaced and new rebuilt master cylinder installed. New tires with maybe 5000 miles of use. New exhaust installed with new muffler and new resonator. All the glass is good. The car was repainted at some point before I bought it. It was originally orange before the red paint job. The weak point of the car is the body work performed previously is starting show its age. Several of the pictures show where body filler is swelling and the paint is cracking. The quarter panels show small rust spots on the bottom but are solid. The engine starts easily and runs great, idles like a dream. It does leak oil from the valve cover and appears to be from the rear main. The interior is fair. The headliner is slightly torn and the carpets are pulling away in the corners. I think this would make a great car for someone who can show it some love. I have a baby on the way and just cant justify the time and money on a two seat sports car! Feel free to call or email me with any questions. Thanks
