Vehicle Detail
This is a barn fresh MGB that has been sitting under cover since it was last driven in 1993. It is a really good candidate for a restoration. The paint is sun baked and is peeling and flaking. The brown spots you see in the pictures are not rust, they are primer where the paint has faded. The body is very straight and it only has one ding in the right rear corner right above the rear bumper. SURFACE RUST only on the left dogleg, in the trunk, and on the front floor boards. The right front floor board has one hole the size of the head of a pencil eraser. No rust in the rockers, in the frame or in the jacking points. This car is very solid. This is a very desireable chrome bumper car and it is complete. In addition it comes with a hard top and with original AIR CONDITIONING. This was a dealer installed option only. I have owned many MGB's in the past and have done extensive reserach on the subject of the air conditioning. This is the earliest car that I have ever seen with original air conditioning. The system is complete and was working great until the car was parked in 1993. All of the parts are still there. Just that fact alone makes this car unique. The wheels on the car are not original but I have the original wire wheels as well. I have extra hubs(2) and all octagon knock offs as well as the wrench fitting them. The spare looks like it is from a MGA. The car comes with the original owners manual as well as repair manual. Also included is the original tool bag, three sets of tonneau rails, two tonneau rail bags, a tonneau in very good condition (never used) and a top cover in very good condition (never used). The car has the rare aluminum hood. Very complete car It even has a complete emissions control system. The car has been in the same family since 1975. The dash has usual cracks and the drivers seat has a crack. The engine turns over with good compression. To get it running you would need to have the fuel system cleaned as well as the clutch and master cyclinders rebuilt. Please e-mail with any questions. Buyer is responsible for shipping or pick up. I will be out of town from 11-20 to 11-28 so pick up has to be arranged before or after that date.On Nov-13-10 at 15:48:47 PST, seller added the following information: I have the car listed locally as well.
