Here is one of the Rarest 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminators I have come across since the mid 80's, came from the Factory with a 351C and a Very Rare 4-Spd close ratio top-Loader Transmission. This Eliminator was found in Colorado over 10 years ago and was stored inside a garage there since the early 90's, has minimal rust in typical areas, the rear quarter wheelwells seem to be the most but they do have patch panels for this particular area for $50 each, and the outer drivers torque box could use some attention (picture). some paint bubbles in a few lower areas but still has the Original floor pans and trunk pans with No patches, The paint has saved this car from any other rust issues, was sprayed with a rust inhibitor and painted yellow in areas where the rust has started or if there were any paint chips. The frame rails are very nice with No rust issues. The Interior is the Houndstooth and only the passenger side bottom will need repair along with the headliner. The headlight vacuum system works great with No leaks. All of the Original Eliminator parts are nice with No cracks, the Original wheels are in very nice restorable condition, all glass is Original and in real nice condition, The Original 351C was rebuilt in the past but not sure when, starts right up every time and purrs, possibly needing a carb adjustment or rebuild. overall a real nice car to restore, you will not find any of these around specially with a Factory 4-Spd, any additional pictures just ask and I can take them for you, a $500 non-Refundable deposit is due at auctions end and the remaining balance due within a week in a cashiers check, I will email the Marti-Report to serious Bidders Only, very reasonable reserve so please only serious bidders, Good Luck!!!! On Nov-13-10 at 13:44:56 PST, seller added the following information: Thanks for all of the interest in this Eliminator, I have posted pictures of drivers side, the brown spotted areas are from spraying with a rust inhibitor where there were chips in the paint, this Eliminator should be for sure stripped to bare metal and done the right way, very nice color for these Eliminators, I have only seen 3 with a factory 4-spd since the early 90's, also you can see in the picture on the drivers lower rear quarter a crease which is repairable and on the passenger side door is a small dent which also should be repairable, other than the few rusted areas in the picturs this car is very solid, if you have asked for the Marti-report and did not get one just let me know again and I can send it to you, Good luck!!!On Nov-13-10 at 13:48:38 PST, seller added the following information: I also have the Original heat shield S-tube and snorkel which will be included and also have the Original Build Sheet and the Original shop Manuals.
