Vehicle Detail
This is a very rare vintage 1970 ST 70 Dax in very good condition with only 1627 (km) actual miles. The Dax ST70 is very similar to the CT70 model, known as the Mini Trail 70. It has a center stand instead of a sidestand like on the CT 70's. This bike has one of a kind completely removable front end, from the forks forward. You just disconnect the wiring at the connector behind the headlight. It has a one piece throttle cable instead of the 2 piece. The 2 piece cable is needed in order to make the front forks completely removable. Then you crank on the little hand crank lever mounted on top of the steering head. As with the standard CT70, the handlebars fold down with the fork attached for the same purpose. After that, the whole front end comes right off the bike, so that it can be easily carried in a car trunk or inside of a car. There's a little grab handle on the right side of the machine below the front of the seat to make it easy to lif the Dax into a car or out of a tough spot on the trail. The front fender is mounted lower to make room for the spindle to drop down. This slightly lower front fender also has a better splash protection. The fender also has a factory painted white stripe on the front edge. The transmission has an automatic clutch, like most CT70's, which means you don't have to worry about stalling, but the Dax also has a different shift pattern for its three speeds. The muffler is slightly different than the CT70's but is just as quiet. This exhaust was broken but has been welded back. The seat cover has been replaced so it is not original. Dax emblems with Japanese writing are on the machine rather than the "Trail 70" emblems CT70's have. The Dax is named after the daschund dog because of its similarly long body - seriously. This bike is a genuine vintage Honda, not some cheap knock-off, and it would be a great addition to any Honda Mini Trail collection or a fun, unusual machine to motor around town, trails, or campsites. It does not have a title. All turn signals, lights, and blinkers are in good shape and working properly, though the tail light has a crack in it. The paint is original. The bike is in great shape for being 40 years old. It is being sold as is, no warranties implied whatsoever, but it runs great and is in good condition. This is your chance to own a rare Honda 70 Dax! They are very collectable bikes. Serious buyers - please email for more pictures and/or any questions.
