Vehicle Detail
THIS BEAUTIFUL 1973 MERCEDES 450SL IS RUNNING GOOD, WITH VERY LITTLE RUST! I HAVE SPENT OVER $10K ON THIS CAR AND I KNOW THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD PUT IN $9K. THIS IS TRULY A STORY OF SOMEONE FINDING A CAR IN A OLD LADIES GARAGE. IT RUNS BUT SMOKES A LITTLE BIT. I DON'T BELIEVE THE SMOKE IS OIL, AS I TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL MERCEDES DEALER AND HE SAID IT WAS A VALVE AND THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE $900.00 ! IF THIS AUTOMOBILE WAS PERFECT WITH THESE FEW MILES IT WOULD BE SELLING FOR $20.000.00 OR EVEN MORE. IT IS IN MUCH BETTER CONDITION THAN WHEN I BOUGHT IT YEARS AGO. IT HAS BEEN STORED IN MY GARAGE ALL THESE YEARS. I TAKE IT OUT OCCASIONALLY JUST TO RUN IT. THE INTERIOR IS IN GOOD SHAPE AND THE EXTERIOR IS IN GOOD SHAPE. THIS 450SL NEEDS A PLASTIC WINDOW INSTALLED ON THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THE HARDTOP IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND I HAVE IT STORED AND COVERED ON A SPECIAL ROOF CART. I bought this car 10-12 years ago from a private owner in Atlanta, Georgia. He had bought it to restore and spent thousands on new rubbers and hoses. He was a young fellow and ran out of money to complete the job. I paid him $9,000.00 for the car at that time and brought it home. I have stored it in the garage for all these 10-12 years. The tires are good, and everything is in the right place. I have lots of extras (these extras come with the car) that i purchased as i was going to mechanically restore and then dress it up. It comes with the original hardtop which is in incredible condition, radio and all other factory items. I have not had much time to tackle this project and it is taking up space in my garage that I badly need., my loss is your gain. To me this is a minor project for Mercedes lovers. Its a 1973, 450 V8 automatic convertible. Its a real keeper, and straight and i believe worth restoring, but almost no rust (if any), nothing major outside. Very low mileage 27,198 miles. I think if you give this 450SL some love., it will return it by becoming a beautiful automobile. Its fully assembled, all original. Pretty good shape, It really is a beautiful automobile.I had always wanted one of these, and now that I have it, I just cannot find the time to fix it in the way I want. Now it can be yours. This 450Sl has the upgraded rims, tires are in great shape, the brakes are good, The Transmission is good. The air conditioner blows cold. Again, I don't want to repeat myself, but its a automobile for someone who loves these cars and would want to make it a great car to own. It is a 37 year old car. This was a rare find years ago, but its still a 1973 Mercedes 450sl. The exterior is solid with a very few rust flakes (no rot). The mileage is the right miles The top comes off and you've got a car with no top. If your out in the rain and your top is home put up the rag top., it is in good condition (but could use a new plastic window installed) I think that is one of the extras i have as i bought one and put it aside in my garage. Look at the pictures. The winning bidder will get a clean and clear title. There is no accident damage evident on this vehicle. Overall, this vehicle's exterior is 37 years old and in really good condition for these many years. The interior is very clean and is in good condition. There is plenty of the tire tread remaining about 98%. There are no signs of prior accident damage on this vehicle. Please be assured, I are not in business to cheat anyone out of their hard earned money. . Another question I've been asked is... Can I drive this car home? or Will it make it to (wherever)? Honestly folks. The truth of the matter is this., i guess it would but i wouldn't take a trip to California until i had it checked out real good. The description is written as accurately as can be. i will do my best not to leave anything out. So please don't put me on the spot by asking a question i could not possible know the answer to. Thank you for looking at our auction and hope we can do business in the near future.
