Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is this 1967 Mercury Cougar. I am selling this Cougar for a friends mother who can no longer drive the car. Her husband (who passed away in 1996) bought this car new in 1967. It has been re-titled in her name but, is a 1 owner vehicle. This Cougar has been garaged every winter and never seen snow. It is the original 289 V8 2 bbl and 4 Speed trans in the Cougar. The 89,648 miles on the odometer is correct. It does NOT have Power Steering or Power Brakes. It has been repainted once. It was not repainted due to rust or any accidents. There isn't any body filler in the car that I can find. As you can see in the pics, the two Cougar badges that were on the rear quarters are missing. The car was Ziebart rustproofed when it was new as was typical in Michigan in that era. The car has all 4 Cragar wheels with it. Two are on the car and 2 are in the garage. It has had the gas tank replaced. The car is straight and in very good condition. The underhood area (as shown in the pics) needs major detailing and does have a couple rust spots starting on the ledge above the shock towers. Also has some minor bubbling starting around the trunk lid seal (also shown in the pics). The drivers seat had one of those old fur seat covers on it. I believe a good cleaning will remove the staining. As you can see, the rest of the interior is in really nice condition. The dash pad has zero cracks. This is the original interior. The underbody is nice from what I can see. As stated before it was undercoated and never been driven in the winter. You can also see the undercoating in the pics of the trunk area. That is not rust. The 289 started well, The choke worked well and once started it settled in and idled smoothly. The trans and clutch works well and shifts smoothly also. The brakes are solid. I have stated what I know about the car. If you have any questions ask and if I don't know I can find out. The buyer is responsible for shipping and any related fees. I will work with any company you choose to ship the vehicle. Or you are welcome to personally pick up the vehicle. A $500.00 deposit will be required within 24 hours of end of auction. I do not have time for games or dreamers. Serious offers only. If you cannot pay, do not bid. It will not be given away. The title is clear and ready for transfer.
