Vehicle Detail

Up for your consideration and bids is this fine and original 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280S (W108) Sedan. VIN # 108.016-12-032143 Exterior in its original DB291 Dark Olive paint, interior in gorgeous Cognac MB-Tex. Power steering, power brakes, power windows. Automatic transmission. Working A/C system. Original (and properly working) BECKER Europa AM/FM radio. This car was sold on November, 19th, 1969 to a lady from Sunnyvale, CA. In July of 2002 it was sold then to a collector from Las Vegas, NV, where it resided until this Spring. Two previous owners. Original and documented 125362 miles. Click to enlarge any of the pictures below. The front and rear bumper, as well as all the other chrome/aluminum trim, are almost flawless. Hood gaps are even. Excellent grill. Lights (F+R) without scratches (clear and crisp). Excellent chrome around lights (F+R). All light functions/positions operate correctly, hi-lo beams, the reverse light, the parking lights, turn signal indicators and fog lights. The original color of DB 291 Dark Olive is presented through an older re-paint (09/2002) and it shows well (this car was always garaged and covered). There are some (barely noticeable and insignificant) touch-ups, which does not affect the overall apperance of this beautiful car. The paint shows nice gloss and depth. Rubbers around windshields (F+R) were exchanged at the same time of paint, they are soft, elastic and without cracks. The body panels are straight (just a couple of minor dents/imperfections), sightlines are good and gaps are excellent. Based on the paperwork and visual inspection, this car has never been in any type of accident. By sunset the car's paint looks very dark, it almost looks black bringing out the fine contrast between the color and the chrome trim. Tires are new Firestone white wall in its correct size of 185/75/14". DB291 Dark Olive exterior complimented by COGNAC MB-Tex interior - gorgeous and classy color-combination on this "gentleman's" car. Almost flawless interior. Absolutely perfect interior chrome. Beautiful dash wood in its unique age-patina. A/C unit blows cold. Original BECKER Europa AM/FM radio works properly. All lights, gauges, horn and power windows operate the way they should. Original 125362 miles on this car's original engine. This car starts, runs, drives and feels the way it should. No smoke ever. No unusual noises. Automatic transmission shifts properly. Recent tune-up. Factory original trunk floor is rust-free, it has NOT been repainted for its fine appearance. Original trunk mat, spare tire (used but good), original tools and jack are included in the auction. Original paperwork, books, manuals, service/maintenance records are also included in the auction. The undercarriage of this car is in its factory original condition (no weldings, no modifications) and it is ABSOLUTELY RUST-FREE. The whole exhaust system is in good condition and it does not need any repairs. "Gentleman's" car in an attractive and absolutely gorgeous color-combination. Ready to be enjoyed and envied. Or a nice addition to an impressive car collection... This is car is 41 years old. It is gorgeous but not new, therefore it is being sold on as-is basis. There are no warranties expressed or implied. Any inspection is welcome only BEFORE the end of the auction. The Title of this car is clear and ready to be transferred. The pictures are of its current condition, they were taken last weekend. $500 deposit via PayPal is due immediately after the end of the auction, the balance (cash, cashiers check, wire transfer) is due 5 days later. The shipping of this car is available to ANYWHERE in the world, we can help organize it. Thank you for looking and happy bidding!
