Vehicle Detail
Up for auction: A 1949 Triumph Renown. The vehicle is in need of restoration. It does run and drive. Engine was tuned up this spring and is solid. No transmission issues. Does not have overdrive. Fuel is old and contaminated and the vehicle will have to be trailered. It will certainly drive onto a car carrier. It has been lot driven for months with an auxillary fuel supply, bypassing the fuel tank and line. All glass is present and good. Body is complete with very little rust. The interior will have to be replaced. As I said, this is a project car for a Triumph enthusiast. It is a long way from barn find but nowhere near concours. This car was renown for being the "little" Rolls Royce. Has trifficators rather than electric turn signals. How cool is that? All chrome is present and in good condition. No oil or coolant leaks. Right-hand-drive. Shares many components with the TR-2 and 3 sports cars. Stop, tail, dome and headlights all function. Wipers work. Marker lights inoperable. Steering and brakes are good. Equipped with classic style Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewalls modern reproduction tries with fewer than 800 miles. This is an opportunity to own a true British classic for a small investment. Chassis # J14624 Body # 665187 Engine # TDC 2315E English License Plate: NXU719 Vehicle sold as is where is. It is located in central St. Louis County, Missouri and is available for inspection during business hours. Assistance with loading available. Bidders with zero or negative feedback please contact me before bidding or you bid will be cancelled. Thank you for stopping by and best of luck bidding. On Oct-28-10 at 15:29:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Up for auction: A 1949 Triumph Renown. The vehicle is in need of restoration. Chassis # J14624 Body # 665187 Engine # TDC 2315E English License Plate: NXU719 For all those interested, this vehicle is being sold by a restoration firm in business for 27 years. This isn't your local Triumph Club or a discussion board. This is a business listing a customer's car and our time is valuable. If you're interested in the car or bidding currently, ask all the questions you want. If you have comments, call them in to Larry King, Rush Limbaugh, or Rachel Maddow, not me. The car has been here 3 years and we're quite familiar with it. Thus: The car has coil spring front suspension, modern door handles and the 111" wheelbase. It does have a replacement TDC engine. It is not and was never represented as an original or mint car. It is what it is and it is titled as it is listed.
