It also has service records going back to 1973 when it was purchased new in Alhambra, CA. This car was delivered brand new to Alhambra LTD Mercedes on March, 3rd 1973. The car lived its whole life in the East Los Angeles area. The previous owner took extensive care of the car and always garaged it. The paint on the car is finished in striking Raven Black and is in good driver condition. The paint job is several years old and does show a few small flaws as to be expected on a car that has been driven. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock as any well cared for garaged car should be, and has never been in any accidents. The car is riding on original steel Mercedes wheels and hubcaps with like new Yokohama tires. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in great shape. The interior is all original condition all around. The dash has a nice aftermarket cap and door panels are in very nice condition with absolutely no cracks or damage. The supple black seats are all in very good condition and look very nice with only one small flaw on each side by the seat hinges, which shows the quality of material used in this car. The two front seats still retain the original covers but were just re-padded with correct materials. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. All dials and controls function as they should, power windows and sunroof also are fully functional. The sound system is also very nice with the Sony sound system. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and does have the original jack, the ORIGINAL "Made In Germany" spare tire and wheel which appears to never have touched the pavement! Also included is the original, complete, set of Mercedes tools in bag! Mechanically, this 280C runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The 2.8L engine is very quick and responsive. It is reliable, easy to fix, and parts are readily available. The suspension is very tight and feels solid even at autobahn speeds above 90mph. The car was always regularly serviced as indicated by the stamped service book. The car just had the A/C serviced and has a brand new carburetor! The car also has all manuals, service book, warrantee plate, tool kit, and original California blue plates! All in all, this is one of the neatest Mercedes that I have had the privilege of being associated with. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owner.
