Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a gorgeous 1966 Ford Thunderbird 390 V8 with completely refurbished original engine (except carburetor, but original carburetor is available) and clear title. Original transmission rebuilt at same time as engine. Blue with blue interior, power locks and air conditioning (A/C will run then shut off and then after awhile will run again). Body in good to excellent condition, all original interior in good to excellent condition. Chrome in good shape and all accounted for. Chrome has slight to moderate pitting in places. Electrical system works well. Stored inside, covered and not in rain since I've owned her. Previous owner bought the bird as a set of three, the bird and 2 Chevy's. Previous owner had the bird for approximately 3 weeks before selling it. Previous owner purchased the bird from a family in northern Florida. I will admit, it was and is still very hard to obtain much history. From what I have been told, the vehicle began it's life in Virginia. Engine/transmission refurbished in 2008 and all receipts and paperwork are available, as are any parts which were updated - all originals available except radio. Started and run every week, fires right up. Center trunk pan has golf ball sized rust hole - see photos. If you are not familiar with T-Birds, this problem with the trunk pan was common. Two rubber drain boots, in the trunk hollow, would dry rot and crack open, allowing water to drain into the trunk, rather than through the trunk and out the bottom. I do not know what the reason was for the removal of the passenger side floor pan. Dime sized rust spot on passenger trunk lid area - see photos. Front passenger side floor pan has been cut away, however driver side floor pan is original and solid. I'm not a mechanic, but from my observation some parts of suspension need work and right now it seems brakes are sticking. Have new baby and no time for car - hate to see her go, she is a classic beauty. Comes with lots of (uninstalled) brand new parts - weather stripping kit, engine compartment insulation kit, sequential turn/taillight/brake relay system, interior and exterior screw kits, and more. The odometer reads 47440, however as mentioned above the engine has been refurbished / rebuilt. Car sold as is, no refunds. Email questions and requests for additional photos. Also listed locally and I reserve the right to cancel auction should it sell before the end date. Bottom line: Ladies and Gentlemen, I will not be making any money from the sale of this car. Nowhere close to what I have in her. She needs to go to someone who has the time, space and extra money. I obviously cannot give her away, but pretty damn close. She will make a very good project, for people who love old Fords and old birds.
