Vehicle Detail
This is BMW is in good condition, but does need some attention to certain items that could make it into a great car for someone who is willing to invest a few extra dollars beyond the sale price to get the car in very good condition. The vehicle is mechanically sound, however, the check engine light came on about three weeks ago. Other matters of interest to potential buyers: (1) the driver's side electric door luck does not work, but the passenger door and trunk lock (which also opens the doors) function properly, (2) the vehicle has a cracked windshield (I have driven it for about three years with the crack with no problems), (3) the interior leather on the dashboard has dried and come loose due to years of sunlight, (4) the rubber around the rear window has cracked and peeled, however, the window does not leak, (5) the rubber around the rear antenna has cracked and peeled. I have owned the vehicle for 12 years and it has an excellent maintenance history. I have experienced no mechanical problems with the vehicle since I have owned it. Oil has been changed regularly. The vehicle has a current North Carolina inspection through May 2011. Save on gas because the BMW uses regular gas and gets upwards of 25 miles per gallon with the 2.8 six cylinder engine and average driving speeds of 70 mph. The leather seats and steering wheel have no cracks or tears. The convertible top is manual and opens and closes in a matter of seconds. No more waiting for an electric top to do its thing, especially when rain comes upon you all of a sudden. The tires have about 8,000 to 10,000 miles on them and have great tread remaining. This is a fun vehicle to drive and was priced back in 1997 around $36,000. The paint is in good condition with no major scratches. Please remember that the vehicle is 13 years old, so the paint is not showroom perfect. The car has been driven infrequently (thus, the 85,000 miles on the odometer). If you're interested in this car, please take into consideration the items detailed above. The car is drivable as is and I do occassionally drive it on warm spring and fall days with the top down. Why I'm Selling It: I currently have four vehicles and don't really need but two. Since the X5 4.4i is about the fastest vehicle I've driven, I've decided to keep it and sell the Z3. Next up will be the 1999 Chevy Astro Conversion Van as soon as I can talk myself into parting with it. Best of luck with the bidding. Someone will get a bargain on this vehicle! Local pickup in Winston-Salem, NC and clear title. The vehicle can be driven to your destination, but please consider that the check engine light is on.
