Vehicle Detail

One of around 1000 made for the 100th Anniversary over a two year period as the factory caught fire while in production. I've heard 2002 owners claim theirs are more rare, but some would argue a centennial edition of a coin struck in the 101st year would be more rare. Besides that point, both years are rare, owners are hoarding these and I've never seen one on the road. You can drive hell out of it, rack up a bunch of miles and it will still be worth what you paid for it some day. I spent a bunch of money and time getting this bike registered, tuned, and in top riding condition. If you want a collectible bike to store then you will have waisted all the work getting it ready for the road after the last owner stored it for years next to his Porsche restoration hobby. He took it to some hacks who changed the battery, drained the tank, yet it was still hard starting. My mechanic, a former British Royal Marine, had to take the carbs off a half dozen times, and bust his butt to get it where it is now. It starts right up cold and each week I take it for a spin to keep the bike running in good shape. I just took it up to 100 m.p.h. for awhile and it's smooth as silk. I have bought five bikes over the last two years and decided to put my time and money into my 1970 Triumph Tiger TR6 bike which is in outstanding shape as well. This bike was sold on March 14, 2003 and was California titled in 2004 and again by myself with 619 miles on it late in 2009. I sold this bike at $7500 last Summer but the DMV took a long time getting me the title, it's priced well and a good deal. The bike comes with brochures, manual, patch, but not a certificate that the original owner would have received with a coffee mug; don't know where those went. You can verify that the bike is the 100th Anniversary by calling Triumph, they gave me the date of sale mentioned above. I put a Nology coil on it which works very well, of course I saved the original coil. I also dressed up the clutch cable a little with a cover and boot. Also, it was professionally jetted. One with nearly twice the miles and who knows how much lacquer in the carbs from sitting went for $7000 at the Mid America auction in Vegas last year in January.
