Vehicle Detail
One 1978 Jeep CJ7 Hardtop with 258 cubic inch 1 barrel carburetor engine, automatic transmission and QuadraTrac transfer case - white with black fiberglass hardtop. I bought this in 2003 from the owner of an oil change/muffler shop/repair place in Streetsboro, OH, who, if the story he gave me is correct, bought it from the father of the original owner a couple of months earlier in 2003 but then wanted to sell it to buy a truck. The son, the original buyer, bought it new in Colorado then sold it to his father in Ohio in 2003 and it was supposedly garaged all that time (25 years) and I can believe it because it is not the typical rusted out, diamond plated Jeep usually seen in this part of the countryo. Loks like it was repainted at one time but the bottoms of the doors went through again so I metal taped them for a quick repair and it has some surface and bubbling but not bad. Had new seat inserts, console and carpets installed just before I bought it along with a volt meter and oil pressure gauge. I was using this as my drive to work vehicle because the CJ5 soft top I had was too cold in the winter but was laid off last year and now don't need to drive to work. Many new parts along with a chrome dress up kit. Parts include: 2003 - exhaust system, 2004: Battery, starter, starter solenioid, 2005: Ignition module, coil, spark plug wires, spark plugs (platinum), Fuel pump, fuel filter, 2006: Radiator, radiator hoses, heater hoses, thermostat, 2007: New 15"x8" black steel wheels with used 31x10.5x15" tires (professionally mounted and balanced), 2008: Brake master cylinder and pedal rod greasing, 2009: Front calipers, front flexible brake hoses, 2010: front brake pads, ignition switch, neutral safety switch, solenoid, carburetor. Oil was changed twice a year using Valvoline MaxLife oil and AC oil filters. Starter works off a toggle switch (theft prevention). Original owner's manual and the paperwork for Ohio emmision inspection testing is included. Gas gauge works when it wants to. Is this a perfect Jeep? No but it is a good looking, solid good runner (in my opinion). If you want to see more photos of anything specific, let me know and I'll post them.
