Vehicle Detail

Selling my restored Supra - I have invested a little over $6000 dollars in this vehicle. Don't be scared off by the mileage - fresh motor, new rack and pinion, etc. This car has never seen road salt as it has only lived with me during my stays in the Southern states such as Florida, Texas and Tennessee. I used to be a road warrior and most miles are all highway ones. Since I live in the Chicagoland area right now I've kept it in the garage in storage for the winter with an auto meter battery maintainer attached to keep the new battery fresh. This has a non-turbo standard 7MGE ( straight 6 cylinder hemi-style - dual overhead cams ) engine with 5 speed manual transmission. It's plenty fast enough at around 230 HP ( don't be deceived by people inflating the true horsepower of this engine ) and you won't blow turbo's or head gaskets if you want to set it up for drifting ( something I have NEVER done ) The car also has a removable Targa top. The undercarriage shows almost no rust and the struts / shocks are in excellent shape. I have a new car now and this one is collecting dust - someone out here would enjoy completing the restoration. All that's really left is fresh paint......it is quite faded as the Texas and Florida sun has baked it ( you could try buffing it out with rubbing compound or something ) but it has never been in an accident and has only minor dings and small scratches - read what I have done to this car- Fresh motor ( replaced with one from Japan at 171,995 miles ) I would estimate the motor currently has 38,000 miles on it. ( The one from Japan was guaranteed to have no more than 30,000 on it ). With the new install both motor mounts where replaced, all gaskets ( including head gasket ) , oil pump, starter relay , thermostat, hoses, a new radiator and water pump. New Rack and Pinion steering ( complete assembly ) along with all associated high pressure hoses installed 135 miles ago - also replaced were the fuel filter, fuel pump , all engine drive belts , wheel bearings and seals. Front end alligned as well. New spark plug wires , cap , rotor and Bosch plugs New rotors and brake pads all around ( this car has 4 wheel disc brakes ) with 4 fresh like new ( 95% tread left ) Firestone Fuzion HRi 225/50R16 tires. New speedometer cable , The clutch plates are strong as they where replaced about 4 thousand miles ago. Spare tire is excellent and no rust in the trunk compartment Replaced both inside door panels with like new leather lined ones - they look great - also replaced all master control switches, trim plates and clips for the power windows ( they both work and I have a set of spare window motors that come with the car ) I installed a new Eclipse CD5423 CD/AM/FM player ( with remote - $350.00 unit ) neatly into the space vacated by the stock radio - I have not upgraded any speakers though or added any additional amps - the eight factory stock ones provide excellent sound quality as is. The factory amp is under the passenger seat .Both outside door handles have also been replaced. New Battery , K&N air filter and the exhaust system is in very good shape - from cat back all pipes replaced with very little rust and a flowmaster muffler The sound is sports car throaty but never have attracted attention for excessive noise. There is very little left to possibly go wrong with this vehicle. Here's what's not quite right with it- drivers seat is OK and all power controls work fine but shows some wear and has a small tear on the edge. The hatchback struts won't hold it up - they need replacing. The oil pressure gauge does not work ( not sure why ) and there is some minor rust near the fuel door and it sticks. The passenger side power window motor makes noise but works fine. Note I have two replacement motors that come with the car - I never bothered to replace it because it works OK. There is a small split on the top of the dashboard. I think they make a kit to repair that. The factory aluminum wheels have some scratches on the edges but are in very good condition overall. The air conditioning compressor is good- just needs freon recharge. With some minor body work and a fresh paint job you'll have one very nice Supra - drive this car anywhere trouble free Please feel free to email with any questions - note- in the picture of the car in Tennessee by the river - you can see the passenger side front mud guard is damaged- that has been replaced with a new one since the pic was taken so that is not an issue. MSRP on this car was $21,200 blue book approx $4000 which does not include all the work done to this car Of course I have all the receipts for the work done to this car for your inspection. I also have the original owners manual. As far as I know I am the 3rd owner of this car - the original was in Florida ( found old Florida Turnpike receipts under the seats ) - and I bought it on eBay 6 years ago from a dealer in Clearwater, FL Happy Bidding !
