Vehicle Detail
Hello, My name is Joe and this is my truck. I have owned it for 1 year. I like to work on trucks and have done alot to this one to get it back in running order, it runs and drives great now. For starters, I put in a new front fuel tank, fuel pump, and fuel filter. Also a new fuel module. That got the fuel pressure back where it should be. (The rear fuel pump and tank need replaced, the tanks rusted from sitting and that ruins the pumps too). Next, the oil pressure was low. It was fine at idle but when the engine heated up, it would not hold pressure. ( I never drove it like this so it never overheated etc). I tried the over the counter flush kits and this just made it worse!!! Dont use that stuff!!! If you have worked much with the Ford in-line 6 you know it is one of the best engines ever made. You also know it is succeptable to sludge build up. This engine was no exception and I knew what had to be done. I pulled the engine out to give it a "once over." I pulled off the pan and it was full of sludge. The oil pump pickup was partially clogged so there is the oil pressure problem. I pulled the intake manifold, valve cover, push rod cover, and oil pump. I had the block internally and externally degreased including the valve train. Brought it home, recoated the bearings, checked compression, lower bearings etc. All checked out. I installed a new oil pump, pick up, spark plugs and wires (not cap and rotor button they were fine), rear pilot bearing, (clutch and pressure plate are very good so I put them back), newe valve cover gasket, push rod cover gasket, manifold gasket. Put the engine back in and it runs prefect. Oil pressure is strong and steady. No smoke or rattles. I also put in new rear brake lines and 1 rear brake cylinder. The radiator is flushed and antifreeze is new. New lower radiator hose. (I think I put on a new upper too but will have to confirm) I have pictures and receipts of everything I stated here. I am selling it for the money to fix my house. I have driven it around town for several weeks and it runs great. 4 wheel drive works perfect with lock outs. The body has some rust above the wheels. The doors have typical rust. All body mounts etc are solid as is most of body. Bedliner. I have another bumper for the back I will throw in (you install). It needs a front end alignment due to pulling gently to the right when braking. It drives straight. It needs the windsheild wipers fixed. They do not work. The AC needs recharged. Heater works great. The exhaust is missing from the cat back. Emergency brake works fine. All lights and turn signals are fine. The left turn signal must be held in place to make it work. Odometer shows 70,000. Titls shows 90,000 and "miles not actual" so mileage is unknown. Toolbox in photos not included. It does not have a radio. Thats about it. Im sure it will make someone a good truck.
