Here I have for sale is a 1986 Porsche 911 targa. I bought this beauty 5 years ago in New York and drove it for about 3 years without any problems. I then decided to rebuild the engine due to a persistant oil leak. The engine, was completed this past spring by motor meister (which was a mistake) and the new rebuilt engine was returned less than decent. After having the new engine placed back into the vehicle, an apparent oil leak began instantly, which became worse as I drove. After putting about 3000 miles on the new engine, a slight rod bearing knock began. I have spent over $15,000 into the vehicle this past spring with the new engine and up grades, and I refuse to put anymore money into this car. Another good rebuild will cost as much as $10,000 or an engine replace as little as $5,000. Up grades to the engine and vehicle consisted of two piece 17'' rims, new performance tires, kevlar clutch, rebuilt injectors, rebuilt alternator, cold air intake, fabspeed duel exhaust with cat bi-pass pipe, performance chip, shocks, and numerous internal engine parts (copy of work done and receipts to prove for verification). I have replaced the carpet inside the vehicle and replaced the targa top. This vehicle will need a good paint job to get that wow effect but signs of road rash and the clear coat chips are clearly seen on the front. These cars are going up in value quickly and a restored or a well maintained carrera of this year and miles will sell in the $20,000 range, therefor, I expect this vehicle not to last very long at this price.
