1999 BMW 540i with the 4.4l V8 engine and automatic transmission. Power everything with cassette, CD changer, memory seat positions, power telescoping steering wheel, and fairly new michelin tires. Overall the car is in good shape but it has some engine issues and is not currently running. Has 103,000miles. The car was running and driving fine until a few months ago when it developed a miss. It was taken to a few mechanics for diagnostics and various items were replaced (O2 sensors, a few injectors, some sensors, etc) but none of these attempts solved the problem. A compression test was done and showed one of the cylinders to be lower than the others. The mechanic pulled the head which checked out to be fine but it revealed that one of the cylinder walls was scored severely. Apparently one of the piston rings broke on the piston causing the score marks on the cylinder wall (see pics). The decisions was made to not repair the vehicle (several personal issues greatly influenced this decision). For someone with the know how this car could easily be repaired and would be a great buy OR someone could also use the vehicle as a parts car and still come out ahead. All parts that were removed are with the car and in good order (see pics). Clear Texas title for this vehicle which will be accompanied by a bill of sale.
