This a very rare and valuable R113 SL. It is a true European model. Meaning it has the smaller bumpers, euro "fishbowl" headlights, amber tail lights, etc. The car received a full restoration about 10 years ago and has been a collectors pride ever since. The only reason he let it go is due to the sluggish economy. Currently odometer reads just over 36,000km which has most likely rolled over to 136k and converts to around 85,000mi, which is believed to be original. This car is in excellent condition and has been twice appraised at between $25,000 and $40,000 and that was over 7 years ago before values on these rare cars skyrocketed. The paint was done around 2000 at the time of restoration and is in overall very good condition. You can easily tell this car has been garaged most of its life. The paint was just buffed and waxed and looks gorgeous! The body on the car is laser straight. I have been under the car from front to back and it is solid and rust free as an Arizona car should be. During the restoration much of the sheet metal was replaced with new Mercedes parts including the floors, rockers, fenders, and quarters. The work was done right and everything lines up like new. The German cloth top on the car is brand new and in excellent shape with no tears or rips at all. The top is fully functional with no issues and always goes up and down with ease. Even the original top bows and frame under the soft top shine like new. All glass was replaced during the restoration and is still like new with no cracks or chips. This SL has a very gorgeous and expensive FULL LEATHER interior. When I say full leather I do mean everything. Seats, door panels, dash, hardtop headliner, and even the glove box is leather-lined! The correct red loop carpet throughout is also fresh. The wood pieces in the car were all refinished and look beautiful. The high dollar stereo system features a custom soundpod on the rear decklid to avoid cutting into the interior. The deck and amplifier all can be fully removed if so wanted. Over $5000 was spent of the stereo, alarm, and LoJack alone! Everything works in the car.. lights, gauges, radio, seats, windows, locks, a/c blows ice cold, etc. Mechanically, this Benz is in excellent condition and runs and drives great. It has very healthy and quick 6cyl engine mated to a nimble 4-Speed Manual transmission. Under the hood is very clean and really shows how its previous owner took the restoration seriously. The car was fully disassembled and put back together with all new parts and every nut and bolt was replaced with new hardware.
