This car has lived its life in the southern states of Oklahoma and Arkansas as far as I know. It has been inspected front to back and is totally rust free and a very straight car. It started out as a very original good condition Fairlane sedan before being given the "Mayberry Treatment." The car has just a bit over 100,000 original miles but has been very well cared for over the years and it shows. This car get more looks and thumbs up than any car I have ever owned, and Barney Fife would be pleased to go on patrol in this vintage ford. 1960 was the first year of the "Andy Griffith Show," and a Fairlane just like this can be seen in several of the original episodes. The car was originally a white car so the door jambs are all original and in great condition. The exterior was completely repainted with black and white single stage paint and look very good. The body is very straight with no filler and no evidence of accidents. All chrome and trim is original and in good pit-free condition and with the exception of some dings and scuffs here and there shows very well. All glass is in good condition and is crack free. The original 14" steel wheels and hubcaps are in good shape and wrapped in new radial tires, as well as a matching 5th in the trunk. The squad car theme is carried on to the correct Mayberry door decals and an authentic whip antenna. Don't forget about the Red rotating gumball light and ear piercing siren! The interior is very original and in nice condition. The original cloth seats were covered with police-duty vinyl and new carpet was installed as well as a new headliner. The painted metal dash and all door panels are beautiful. The AM radio works great and still sounds very good. All gauges and lights work correctly. The A/C blows ice cold and the system was recently serviced. The trunk is also very nice condition with a original mat and seal. The spare as well as all jacking equipment and tools are in place. Mechanically, this Ford runs GREAT! This car features the 292ci V8, which really moves this Cruiser. As I said before this car has been maintained religiously by the previous owner. Under the hood is very clean and detailed and just had a full repaint and professional detail undertaken and looks very good. At that time new plugs, rotor, cap, wires, and gaskets were also installed. All new coolant hoses, belts, and fluids were installed. The brake system was also gone through with a full brake bleed, new master cylinder, and all pads and rotors were installed. Receipts will accompany the car for all work performed. The car tracks straight and rides just like a Fairlane should! The car includes two sets of original keys. The paperwork which comes with this car is another exceptional bonus. Also included are original manual, dealer only Ford Police car brochure for 1960, and a collage of Barney Fife, signed by Don Knotts! All in all, this is one very nice Fairlane. A 1963 Galaxie "Mayberry Special" did $110,000 at Barrett-Jackson a few years ago, and in my opinion is not nearly as cool looking as a 1960 model. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owner.
