Up for auction is a 1976 Porsche 912e. This is a very rare Porsche, they were only made one year and a little over 2000 of them were made for the American market. Only 500 of the cars came with electric sunroofs and this car is one of the 500. This Porsche is from rust free California and has a blue California title. The white paint appears to be original, I have found no evidence of wrecks or repaints. The body is very straight and rust free. the red interior is also original to this car. The car starts, runs, shifts, drives and stops in an excellent manner. The car has its original Fuchs wheels and the tires are in excellent condition. This 912e has the original owners manual and many service records. I have had the headliner replaced with factory, period correct material and because the windshield had to be removed to do the job I replaced the windsheild gasket and sunroof gaskets with OEM gaskets from Porsche.The headliner and gaskets installed cost $1200.00. I have had the sunroofs drains cleaned, replaced the shifter knuckle, re-wired the turn signals with new factory wiring, had a tune up with a compression test ( #1 147 PSI, #2 150 PSI, #3 145 PSI and #4 150 PSI ) , a complete brake job front and rear including hoses, front and rear calipers and rotors and pads. All of this work cost $1900.00. It also has new wiper blades, wiper switch, door stop, visor clips, antenna, and new glass for the clock. All this work cost $1600.00. All invoices will be included with the sale. This Porsche is always kept indoors and is in fantastic shape. Please Google the Porsche 912e and find out for yourself what a special car this is. I have owned 5 of these cars and have the best 3 left. I will be selling a red on black 912e at a later date and I am going to keep my yellow on black one because it has the sunroof and air conditioning( very rare). These cars are not only unique and rare but they weigh considerably less than its 911 cousin making this car a blast to drive. It performs very well and besides the modest stereo the car is completely stock. All the functions of the car work as they should and the car needs nothing but a new loving home. I am a long time Porsche Club of America member in good standing and own several top notch vintage Porsche and pre-1968 VW's and have been a fan of fine German air cooled cars for the past 25 years. I KNOW GOOD CARS AND THIS PORSCHE 912E IS A EXCELLENT AUTOMOBILE. I have had the car gone through and sorted out by the legendary Jones Autowerks in San Antonio Tx. and they said that this is one of the finest original examples of the Porsche 912e that they have ever seen. I just moved from Texas to Colorado and I am having to sell off my collection of 52 fine rust free air cooled German autocars because I have no where to house more than 15 cars.
